Vacation Rental Description

Mountain Gem is a 1,300 square foot, three-bedroom house nestled in  
a private wooded setting, just up from Wintergreen’s Mountain Inn  
and Black Rock Market.  With ground-level entrance, there are no  
stairs to climb and there is a convenient "boot room" to unload all  
of your belongings.  
 
Do not let the simplicity of the exterior fool you.  Walk through  
the front door and you are immediately embraced by the warm rich  
colors of the walls and openness created by the vaulted ceilings,  
exposed beams, and floor-to-ceiling windows.  
 
This charming floor plan offers a single bedroom with queen-size bed  
on the main level and two bedrooms on the second, one with queen- 
size bed and the other with two twin beds.  Both floors have full  
baths.  The kitchen has what it needs for you to cook a full meal  
and offers casual seating for six. 
 
In the Winter, spend your time lounging around the fireplace,  
reading, or visiting with family and friends - but do not be  
surprised if glimpses of skiers and snowboarders out back compel you  
to hit the slopes (or tubing parks).  Just grab your gear and walk  
down the hill to the Tyro ski run.  Catch the end of ski season and  
actually ski and tee (golf) on the same day! In the spring, take a  
hike and find yourself at a spectacular waterfall.  Look for  
wildflowers along the way.  
 
Summer offers a cool escape from scorching temperatures, usually ten  
degrees cooler than in the valley.  Choose to swim in one of the  
mountaintop pools or one of the lakes that are only 15 minutes  
away.  Better yet, go horseback riding to the lake for a picnic  
dinner and gallop back to the stables at sunset.  Fall brings  
spectacular hues to the mountainside, a sight not to be missed.  
 
At the resort, there is full service spa for those who want to be  
pampered including an indoor pool for family fun.  Children can  
enjoy the award-winning Tree Top Children’s program.  Experience a  
variety of restaurants the resort and local town have to offer after  
you’ve worn yourself out for the day!
