vacation rental description

My cozy Salt Lake City condos are my fun, home-away-from-home.  I hope they can be yours too.  When I travel, I want all the amenities of home.  I’m a suburban girl with urban tastes, so I like to have easy access to the airport, easy access to downtown and a short drive to the best skiing in the world.

Note: The calendar availability represents BOTH condos.  If there is a date showing available, it means at least one (or both) of the condos are available.  If it showing reserved, both condos are booked during this time.  If you have any questions, please feel free to inquire.

Both units are in the same complex, next to each other, conveniently nestled just 8 short minutes from the airport and just 2 miles from downtown activities.  Traveling with friends?  Book the units together and I'll give you a great discount.  You can get settled in, right after arriving in town.  Additionally, you will have  gated parking for your vehicle; one per unit.  When you enter into the condo, you’ll feel right at home.

Both are the same layout with the same features and  amenities, but different decor.   One has beautiful granite counters and new kitchen cabinetry, while the other has rich, warm earth tones, new carpet, and lovely mosaic tile in the kitchen.  Both are remodeled bathrooms and kitchens with new appliances, comfortable Queen beds in the master, and full size beds in the 2nd bedroom.  Linens are included for the beds and towels for up to 4 people.  We're also now baby friendly!  with a Pack and Play and high chair available to you, should you require them, if traveling with little ones.

Both units have new baseboard heaters and thermostats to ensure your comfort in the winter.  I love circulating air, so I had beautiful, quiet ceiling fans installed in the bedrooms and the dining area to keep air flowing nicely throughout the unit, in the winter, summer, spring or fall.

Enjoy having your privacy with all the amenities you need, without the high price of boring, expensive hotels.  Definitely better priced than a hotel suite, with far more to offer.  I even supply coffee and tea!  My dedicated cleaning lady keeps these condos very clean with professional pride.  Each unit features two flat panel TV's and DVD players; one in the living room and the other in the master bedroom.  DVD’s are also available to watch during your stay.  If you have some you’d like to unload, bring them along and add them to the guest library for others to enjoy.

Ahh, comfort.  The master bedrooms are furnished with real Queen size beds with a tempurpedic mattress topper.  Something my bad back requires no matter which unit I stay in!  The second bedrooms are furnished with real Full size beds, also with tempurpedic mattress toppers.  The sofabeds pull out into a full size bed (cozy!) and in each unit, a twin foldaway bed is also available in the closet of the 2nd bedrooms.  In addition, in each unit, the 2nd bedroom is furnished with a small desk to get some work completed, or to set up your laptop when you need to get online; the units are WIFI enabled.  Each unit also has a washer and dryer, with complimentary laundry detergent, a fully stocked kitchen featuring new, electric ranges, new dishwashers and new refrigerators!  Coffee maker, teapot,  toaster, microwave oven  and everything you need to cook and serve your delicious meals.   Tupperware is also available for your use to pack leftovers in if you are on the run.

Minutes to downtown Salt Lake City, this is an ideal location.  Just a short 2 mile drive, you’ll have access to the best dining Salt Lake City offers, great museums, grocery stores and shopping at the Gateway Mall.  If you are here for business, you are just 2.33 miles/8 minutes from the Salt Palace Convention Center and have quick access to the I-80, I-215 and I-15 freeways.  If you aren't interested in renting a car, no worries.  A 10 min taxi from the airport, and you can catch the 516 bus around the corner and it takes you just a block from the Salt Palace or other convenient, downtown locations.  Maps of the bus route and local ski areas are available in my directories located in the unit.

Whether it be for a sporting event, business meetings, a conference, LDS activites or Temple, these affordable condos are just a quick 10 minutes from all the downtown activities.   For skiers looking to save some money, it’s just a 20 minute drive to the best snow on earth at Snowbird & Alta, Brighton & Solitude.  Or for more winter action, just a 30 minute drive to Park City, Deer Valley & the Canyons.  Snow Basin and Powder Mountain are just up the I-15 too!    Summertime brings great hiking, biking, fishing or day trips to Utah’s world-famous canyons.

traveler reviews for this salt lake city condo rental

Great owner, Not-So-Great Neighborhood.

Review submitted: June 11, 2013   Date of arrival: April 18, 2013

The major selling point of this condo is that Lisa concerns herself with responding quickly and even anticipates guest questions and concerns.

One week prior to check-in, Lisa emails a thirteen-page check-in packet (yes, 13 pages!!). Guests will know where to find items, how to use services, the quantity of supplies provided, and what to do if something goes wrong. I've never seen a more thorough welcome packet.

We had a problem with the gate remote, and Lisa not only responded very quickly via email but came out within a few hours to personally to replace it.

The pictures online accurately depict the state of the unit and the furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the the kitchen fully stocked. I was pleased to find extras such as laundry detergent, dish soap, sponges, and paper towels.

I really appreciated the baby-friendly amenities; the pack & play and highchair were both clean and in great shape.

A few things a renter might want to know before settling on this property... First, let's talk location, a major selling point in the ad. The condo is very close to the airport (less than 10 minutes) and downtown Salt Lake City (again, under 10 minutes). Unfortunately, the area is rather urban and the surrounding buildings quite shabby.

I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood, though I will say I was glad the parking lot was gated. We walked to the kids playground several blocks away one afternoon, and I decided not to do that again. I know that honest, hardworking people live in this area. But, if I have a choice about where I wanted to spend my time on vacation, this part of Salt Lake City wouldn't be on my list.

Second, the condo is garden level, meaning if you walked up to the building, the living room window would be where your feet stood on the ground. I felt uncomfortable leaving the blinds open during the day since everyone could (and did) look in the windows.

Third, I knew in advance the size of the condo was rather small (620 sq. ft). But, I didn't realize how cramped the common area would feel with three kids playing. If I wasn't spending a lot of time in the unit, the size wouldn't be a concern. But I did, and it was.

Would I stay here again? Maybe under certain circumstances, but it wouldn't be my first choice. In a nutshell - great owner, not-so-great neighborhood.

Salt Lake Home Away from Home

Lovely, cozy little place that makes a perfect home-base while visiting family and friends. VERY child-friendly. There is a train that comes through regularly early in the morning but after the first night, it wasn't a terrible sleep-interupter. Clean place that is well cared for and easy to find. The owner was forgiving when we broke the gate opener and forgot to leave the parking card. We had a lovely time and will stay here again!

Nice, cozy place to stay!

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The apartment had perfect amount of bedding and space for us. It was nice to have two TV's - one for the kids to watch cartoons and one for the adults to watch. We could tell that Lisa really takes care of her place. We got to meet her in person and she was lovely. Overall it was nice, clean, cozy place to stay. We are looking forward to staying there again!
