Rancho del Mar - See the surf in Arch Cape in Cannon Beach

Rancho del Mar is currently undergoing extensive renovations and updating, incorporating eco-friendly features and the most modern comforts while maintaining the charm and amazing ocean views offered by this midcentury ranch style home.  Special features will include wall-to-wall windows in the living room and master bedroom with french doors opening to the west-facing deck, radiant floor heating, walk-in master shower, both handscraped wood and concrete floors, kids' bunk room, dimmer switches, outdoor shower, office nook, wi-fi, and more.  Even the furnishings are being updated for comfort and style.  Our anticipated completion date is February 1, 2010, and we are now accepting reservations for Spring Break and beyond.  Updated photos will be posted upon completion of the project.

The main living area of this home offers stellar ocean views through oversized windows.  The woodburning fireplace (wood provided), exposed natural finished wood beams, and ambiant lighting with dimmer switches create a relaxing, warm environment.  The custom-built entertainment center includes a cable-equipped flatscreen t.v., DVD and VHS players, stereo system, and surround sound.  A french door opens to the west-facing deck.

The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and offers expansive ocean view windows and a french door opening to the deck.  A second bedroom has a twin bunk bed and office nook.  A full bath with walk-in shower is adjacent to these two rooms.

The "south" wing is separate from the main living area, providing extra privacy for the two back bedrooms.  One room is furnished with a queen bed, mini-bar, and half bath.  A second bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds and an adjoining game/cable-equipped t.v. room.  A full bathroom with tub/shower enclosure services this wing. 

The kitchen is modern and well-equipped (basket of goodies including coffee from Columbia River Roasters awaits your arrival).  Extras include an undersink water purifier, ice maker, waffle maker, blender, and toaster oven.

Other amenities include phone with free long-distance, wireless internet, gas BBQ and patio furniture.

Utility room includes sink, washer, dryer, and iron.

Port-a-crib and high chair available. Both the young and young-at-heart will be entertained by the collection of games, books, puzzles, videos, and sand toys.  Children will enjoy the sandbox and swing in the yard as well as the creek that empties into the ocean near our home.

Linens, paper and soap supplies provided.

Arch Cape is a quiet, non-commercial neigborhood situated 4 miles south of Cannon Beach. The 2 1/2 mile long secluded beach offers tide pools, sea caves, waterfalls, flowing creeks and long stretches of isolated sand.

Hiking trails, surfing, sand dunes, and state parks, are just moments away. Golf, art galleries, restaurants, cultural events, boardwalk and shopping are all located close by in neighboring communities.

There is a small but well-stocked store and deli located in Arch Cape (get there early in the day to get one of the to-die-for brownies) with larger shopping centers located in nearby Cannon Beach, Manzanita and Seaside.

Winter rate of $195/night valid November 1st - Mid-March, excluding holidays. Winter Special: Every 3rd night free based on 2 nights at "Value Season" rate (not available for holiday weekends).

Value Season rate of $225/night Mid-March - Mid-June & October. 7th night free.

Summer rate of $295/night valid Mid-June - September 30 and holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day). Generally, there is a seven night minimum during the busy months of July and August, though exceptions are possible if there is a last minute vacancy.

Cleaning fee $125 - $200 depending on length of stay and number of beds used.
