An exquisite large bay window looks out on the wildlife pond, across the meadow to the old barn and onto the inviting trail into the forest. The open floor plan has a private sleeping area and a fully equipped kitchen. Find inspiration in the writer's nook that looks out on a large old cedar.
The cottage is centrally located on South Whidbey and convenient to the many activities available, including hiking, biking, beachcombing, antique stores, galleries and local farmer's markets.
Bring your boat or kayak - the public boat launch is only 5 minutes away at Holmes Harbor and we have ample parking for your trailer.

The spacious living area includes a well equipped kitchen with a 2 burner gas cook top, refrigerator and microwave oven and toaster/convection oven. A sleeping alcove provides privacy for the queen bed, and there is also a double sofa bed. The cottage has hardwood floors, washer and dryer, gas fireplace, satellite TV, telephone, DVD with video library, CD player with iPod dock, and Broadband Internet and WiFi. All linens are provided. There is a small deck off the sleeping alcove and a covered porch with a gas barbeque grill.
The cottage is a serene space with beautiful architectural details. The views from the bay window often include deer walking by just a few feet away. The property is also home to heron, ducks, owls, beaver, racoons and frogs who will serenade you in the early spring. Eagles and hawks are frequent visitors. Walking trails take you through forest and meadow.

It is conveniently located 5 minutes from Freeland with its beach front park and boat launch, shopping and restaurants, and 8 miles from the lovely village of Langley with its shops and galleries. Also nearby are Double Bluff beach, South Whidbey State Park and Greenbank Farm.
Favorite activities include hiking/walking and beachcombing. The spectacular Double Bluff beach, South Whidbey State Park and Greenbank Farm each offer very different opportunities for being in nature.
South Whidbey is home to a vibrant artist community, and there are art fairs and studio tours during the year as well and the year-round Whidbey Art Trail which allows you to visit artists' studios. Langley, Coupeville and Greenbank Farm have some wonderful galleries.
During the year there are great performances at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts and the Children's Theater.
Annual events include Langley Mystery Weekend in February, Whidbey Island Writers Conference in March, the 3rd of July fireworks in Freeland, the Island County Fair in August and the Django Fest in September.
