Fishing Tails Cottage in Port Aransas

A great spot!

My wife and I have stayed at the Fishing Tails cottage three times in 18 months and plan to return in the fall of this year. We always find it clean and comfortable. Another bonus is that they accept pets! We have three dogs @ about 30 pounds each and they love the beach.

The owner has WI-FI that covers the entire house and is easy to link to. There is satellite TV with one unit in the master bedroom and another in the den.

It has four bedrooms (three upstairs and one down) and we have easily slept 6 without using the sofa. The AC works wonderfully! There is a large table in the dining area next to the kitchen. The two bathrooms are well laid out. There is no tub as each bath has a shower stall. My only complaint about the entire place is that the shower stall is small. One person fits fine but I was hoping to shower with other adults! One saves more water showering two at a time!

The owner has prepared a great sitting area downstairs under the house. It has a little sofa, some chairs, and a wonderful gulf breeze. We love to sit down there at the end of the day with Cuba Libras in hand. Changes in latitudes....
There is a full size electric wheel chair lift too. It will take you from the ground level to the front door in a flash. We have a friend in chair so now we can invite him too!

Colleen was our rental agent and she was wonderful. On our second visit one of our party arrived 2 hours early with no way to get in. Colleen was kind enough to do a night rescue and let our friend in. It seems we have had a personal problem that required her help or advice every time we go and she is happy to help.

There is a nice coffee house at the nearest corner too. They have pastries, ice crème, and many flavors of chocolate and coffee drinks. Port A has a restaurant every ten feet so food is not a problem.

My wife and I go sailing, walking, birding, and shopping when we are not eating, sleeping, or imbibing. It has all been almost, but not quite, too much fun!
