Gun Lake Family Vacation Home- Spectacular Lakefront Views in Gun Lake

This spacious home is around the corner from Bay Pointe Inn, on the south end of beautiful east Gun Lake.  The view of the lake looking north to the islands and the Yankee Springs Rec Area is spectacular in every season.  This home has 3000 square feet of light, bright space and is designed to blend cozy lake cottage elements with the comforts of modern conveniences.  It offers many ammenities for family members of all ages. 

DETAILS: The upper level is accessed from the front of the home or garage for those with physical challenges.  It provides a beautiful view of the lake from the open living area, sunroom, upper deck and master bedroom.  Bedroom #1 is the master suite with a king bed, spacious bathroom and double walk in closets.  Bedroom #2 has a queen bed and is located next to the second upper level full bath.  This level also has a fully stocked kitchen open to the dining room, living room, stairway and front foyer.  The laundry room is on this upper level.

The home's lower level has Bedroom #3 with a queen bed and twin bunk beds.  It is located next to the lower level bathroom with walk in shower.  Bedroom #4 is a large open multi purpose and media room which features a second kitchen area.  The media center features a large 3D Smart TV, Blu Ray, Wii, Bluetooth Sound system with Cable and WIFI services provided.  Bring your own DVD/Blu Ray movies and Wii games. The room also features two Queen murphy bed systems for sleeping up to four additional people in proper beds.  The murphy beds open on each side of the TV cabinet at night, then neatly close in the day, keeping a large open space for play.

The patio outside of the multi purpose room is on the upper terrace overlooking the dock and swim area/shoreline.  This space has a large teak dining table and chairs, gas grill and patio heater.  The home offers another wicker folding table and chair set that can used on any level, along with a toddler picnic table and umbrella.  A stairway from the patio leads down through a terraced shade garden to 60 feet of private lake front shoreline and a long dock.  The water is shallow along the shore with a hard sandy bottom which gradually slopes out into the deepest part of the lake.  The water is about 3-4 feet deep at the end of the dock. There is a firepit with camp chairs and tiki torches on the west half of the lakeshore. The shoreline has a sea wall along the shore.  Beach towels provided. 

This home can comfortably accommodate 8 to 10 adults or 12 to 14 with children/babies and one well behaved dog.  It is a good home for sharing time with friends and family.  Come play, relax, explore and enjoy!

Standard size washer and dryer, high chair, booster seats, toddler bed, infant Pack-N-Play yard/bed, two baby gates, baby/ toddler life jackets, water toys, indoor toys, games, nature and children's books, ladder ball, TV on both levels, wheel chair, electric lift recliner chair, shower chair and bathroom hold bars, gas grill, patio and outdoor furniture, umbrellas, portable firepit, patio heater, party lights, hose, beach towels, kayak, parking space for six vehicles/boat trailer, attached garage, hostess/party supplies.

Yankee Springs Rec Area and Barry State Game Area is like being "up north" without the long drive.  You can see part of it from our deck. It is nice for hiking, biking, nature walks, mushroom hunting, bird watching, fishing, hunting, horseback riding.  There are many small unoccupied lakes throughout  the rec area to explore, photograph and fish.  Visit Graves Hill and the Devil's Soup Bowl. Other events and attractions include the Golf, Barry County Fair, Gun Lake Fireworks, Hastings Summerfest, Charleton Park events, Bowens Mill (an old mill and petting farm for children), Gun Lake Casino, Putt Putt Golf, Pontoon Boat and Jet Ski Rental from Matteson's Marine or Gun Lake Rentals and Bay Pointe Inn events.  Folks enjoy the area resturants, antique and gift shops, farm markets, orchards, garage sales.  A favorite activity is the fall color tour drive through the countryside. Allegan County Fairgrounds is the host to monthly antique shows from May through September.  Other day trips may include Museums, Zoo, Festivals, Shopping Malls in Grand Rapids, Holland, Allegan, Saugatuck, Kalamazoo- all within an hour or less drive.
