Wonderful little getaway!! Only 10 minutes into Boone. The areas mountains and Christmas Tree farms are stunning...I've entertained the thought of moving there!! Home was immaculate and you take walks to see the vistas at even higher elevations. Great for 2 people who want some quiet time.

I even rescued a kitten (Newland area)and brought home to my mother

I will go again as soon as owners can possibly get firmer mattresses.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Amazingly beautiful place!!

Hi Toni & Mark, On Friday night when we arrived , we were amazed at how beautiful the place was.
My husband and nephew really loved the deer mount above the fire place. The beds were amazing. The views to absolutely die for.
On Saturday morning we all had the buffet breakfast at the little restaurant down the street. After breakfast, we spent the day at Tweetsie RR. On Sunday morning we left at 11 and rode down the Parkway to Linville to visit the Caverns. A Lot of time was spent just enjoying the views from the back deck and watching the cows graze around the tree farms. We all had a great time!!!
We all thank you and Mark for your gracious hospitality in letting us enjoy your place. We would definitely love to visit again.

Our visit to "A Little TLC"

We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! My girlfriend could not get over how wonderfully cool it was in the mornings and evenings - just what she needed, and my husband really enjoyed having the place to himself one afternoon while Sharon and I went into Boone for some shopping. Sharon couldn't wait to go fishing, and got up early one morning and fished at the bridge beside the Riverside Restaurant - easily caught a couple of trout and several perch - 8 fish in all - but called me around 10:30 to tell me her slider holding the caught fish had floated down the stream unbeknownst to her until the little boy who was fishing nearby with his dad (a Todd volunteer fireman) alerted to the fact! That's a different sort of fish story she has to tell, huh!

Your place is wonderfully furnished and outfitted and the hot tub was so enjoyable, and to let you know how much I enjoyed your wonderful porch, I'll tell you this. Everyone knows I'm not a morning person, but at my first stirring each morning I couldn't wait to get out on the porch and just sit there taking in the birdsong, which was the only sound I heard, interrupted now and then by turkeys calling in the distance and a car here or there out on the road. There's truly nothing like waking up to only nature sounds - nothing artificial. We saw a good many nice sized bunnies here and there, I saw a mama doe and her 2 babies cross the yard and we all saw other deer in the yard or neighborhood. We did have hummies too, but so enjoyed the bluebirds, who we believe had a nest in the end of your gutter - even enjoyed watching several of them peck at a piece of peach we left on the railing and all of the big (dead or dying) beetle offerings we left on the railing were scarfed up quickly as well!
