The Grand Arbor in Metamora

The Grand Arbor invites you to renew your connection with the healing power of the earth. Escape into the heart of 62 secluded acres of wooded forest. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath family vacation log cabin home is the perfect place to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Our 2900 square foot cabin is located in south-eastern Indiana, less than one hour west of Cincinnati or one hour east of Indianapolis in the Metamora/Brookville area. Conveniently located only 10 minutes from Brookville State Park and 5 minutes from the quaint historical town of Metamora, this secluded getaway welcomes you and your guests.

Some of our recent visitors tell us that that The Grand Arbor feels like mountain chalet due to it's spacious interior. With large glass windows overlooking a mature woods and creek, the Grand Arbor is nestled in a valley with a southern exposure. Surrounding hiking trails and a multitude of fun outdoor activities are bountiful. Because of its picturesque and convenient location, The Grand Arbor truly is an ideal place for vacations, family reunions, wedding receptions, and retreats.

The ground level offers a walk out basement with a game room (including a pool table) that's especially a big hit with the kids to play or just hang out.

On the main level is a master bedroom with queen bed, full bath with tub, large fully-equipped open kitchen with built-in appliances, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, forest green cabinetry, a large storage pantry, and a built-in bookshelf.  CD and DVD players w/ monitors are furnished.

The hallmark of the kitchenis the island which serves as a gathering place for all guests and provides comfortable seating for five to eat a casual meal. There is also a large dining areawith additional seating. Just off the dining room is the great roomwith a large stone fireplace, pull-out sleeper sofa, and plenty of gathering space for everybody. It really is a GREAT room with spectacular views of the surrounding forest and creek.

A 360-degree wrap around deckand screened-in porch invite you to enjoy the environment any time of year, and the hot tub(up to 6 people) will lure you outside no matter the weather.

The upper level features two bedrooms (one with 4 twin beds, one with a king bed and a twin bed) overlooking trees and meadows. Each bedroom offers plenty of sleeping space. The loft on this level overlooking the great room also offers additional sleep and relaxation space for guests who bring their own air-mattress or sleeping bag. A "Pack and Play" portable crib is available for guests with infants. A linen closet and full bathroom are conveniently situated in thehallway between the bedrooms. You will notice the meticulous attention to detail throughout, making the cabin a true 'home away from home'.

Just minutes from the Grand Arbor, there are a variety of exciting things to see and do. You can make your stay as busy or as laid back as you wish. Each day of your vacation can be filled with hours of fun activities perfect for the entire family.

Catch a fish or enjoy a swim near the sandy beaches ofBrookvillelake. Rent a canoe and go down the beautiful Whitewater River. Go horseback ridingand explore the beautiful trails at the Salt Creek Ranch. One of our favorite pastimes is to take a step back in time over 150 years and stroll around the historical canal town of Metamorafor dining and shopping. Golfing, hiking, boating and other outdoor activities are popular in or near the Brookville State Park (about 7 miles away).
