vacation rental description
This charming log cabin is in a serene, wooded area in the Roosevelt National Forest, just 4 miles from the Wild Basin Entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin is 15 miles from the attractions of Estes Park.
In a mountain cluster of pines and aspens, this vintage cabin property with a quaint bridge over a spring creek and hammock under the trees enjoys scenes of abundant wildlife.
By night, enjoy wine by a crackling fire in the stone hearth. By day, explore the majesty of the Rockies. Wake up to a sparkling mountain view through the aspens. Cook traditional family recipes in the well-equipped kitchen. Play games in the sunroom.
This cabin is romantic for just two but able to handle a crowd. Glorious in the summer; intimate in the winter, it is a peaceful retreat.
There are three full bathrooms. One is a luxurious, spa--like bathroom with a hot air massage tub, a walk-in shower, electric fireplace, and flat screen TV.
The bedroom layout allows for private space for guests. The master bedroom has a private balcony overlooking a secluded view of aspens and pines. The second bedroom on the main level has it's own upstairs room with 2 single beds, and the upper-level bedroom has an attached loft with 2 single beds.
When you are not sight seeing, take in a game of volley ballo on the property on the 20' by 30' court with rubberized mulch.
On the doorstep of the Rocky Mountain National Park, you can enjoy a variety of activities all year round -- from leisurely hikes to vigorous mountain climbing, horseback riding, fly-fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sleigh rides and much more. Alternatively, you can simply relax in your romantic cottage and enjoy the peace and beauty of your surroundings, the wildlife and the mountain views.
You'll relax on the secluded deck with views of the Iron Clad Mountains watching the deer at dusk and the jays and hummingbird feeders in the morning.
Cheerfully sunlit through generous windows in the daytime; cozy and intimate at night when the curtains are drawn.
Snuggle in the warm glow of the great room with pine log walls, antler chandelier, stone fireplace, wide board floors, cathedral ceiling.
Chilren spend happy hours with the dress up clothes, games, puzzles, books, DVDs and videos.
Delight in the yellow and purple wild flowers in the summer, the shimmering golden aspens in the fall, and the snow covered peace in the winter.
Allenspark has two national park trail entrances. In the summer it is a perfect place from which to hike into the park or fly fish in some of our pristine mountain streams and lakes. Horseback riding and mountain climbing are also very popular activities.
In the winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are a great way to see the park and experience its spectacular beauty.
Cross country skiiers can ski out the cabin door to nearby trails in the Roosevelt National Forest. Down hill skiiers have the Eldora Ski Resort just 32 miles away.
Hikers love the access to the amazing assortment of trails near the cabin. As one guest said, they were "spritually refreshed and physically challenged" during their stay
Concoct masterpiece meals in the well-equipped kitchen -- crock pot, blender, toaster, coffee maker, butcher block counter, pots, pans, dishware, and utensils galore for the biggest meals
Large windows look out in all directions, so even on days too cool to sit outside, you are "in the woods" in the coziness of the cabin.
The interior is furnished in a delightful rustic cabin style, with handmade quilts, looped rugs and baskets as accents
The village of Allenspark is one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado and arguably one of its best kept secrets. Located on the doorstep of the Rocky Mountain National Park, it boasts stunning scenery, abundant wildlife and a wide choice of activities to suit everyone's personality and lifestyle.
Take in two hidden treasures of eating in the village -- the Meadow Mountain Cafe, a little cabin with a pot belly stove serving up fresh, homemade breakfasts and the Fawn Brook Inn, 5-star dining attracting diners far and wide.
This area has the advantage over the more well-known Estes Park in that it is not yet fully "discovered." It has easy access to Estes and its tourist attractions, yet remains quieter and non-commercialized.
