Vacation Rental Description

   Aloha and welcome to Ole Kamaole's, or "Ole the Barefoot's" Beach
House! Located on the sunny west side of the Hawaiian island of Kauai
at the foot of Waimea Canyon, we are across the street from an
exciting surf break and miles of empty beach. Two miles of dark sand
extend east to tiny Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor. To the west lie 17
miles of white sand, stretching past Barking Sands to Polihale State
Beach Park at the western  tip of the nearly inaccessible Na Pali Coast.
   Our cottage is new (1995), yet our community of Kekaha was
originally housing for the sugar plantation, which is still in
operation. There are no hotels or other "touristy" developments. This
is real Hawaii!
   We are three miles from the mouth of the Waimea River, where
Captain Cook first landed in Hawaii in 1778. Up the volcano behind us
in Kokee State Park is one of the last endemic Hawaiian rain forests,
with a natural history museum and 40 miles of hiking trails. You will
find waterfalls and awesome views of Kalalau Valley opening to the
blue Pacific 4000 feet below. Or explore Waimea Canyon, which Mark
Twain called "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific."

Vacation Rental Amenities

   Lots of glass, open beam ceilings, wood floors, indirect lighting,
ceiling fans, and art hangings complement the decor of your beach
house. Raised above the bananas, mangos, and papayas on 12 foot
pilings, catch a glimpse of mysterious Niihau Island or watch the moon
rise over Waimea Bay.
   Prepare a feast in the complete kitchen, or just pop some corn in
the microwave. Use your icemaker and blender to mix up a tropical
drink. The automatic dishwasher will clean up. Full breakfast supplied.
   You will sleep well in the king sized bed. Put your family or
friends up on the two twin beds in the second bedroom or on the full
size sleeper sofa in the living room. Or everybody pile on to watch
cable TV or a movie on the VCR or DVD. There's room for six, and we
provide sheets and towels!
   Outside there is an extra outdoor shower and a traditional charcoal
BBQ. On the rec deck there's a wash machine and an extra
toilet. On this deck we store the sand chairs, straw mats, and body
boards for you surfers. 

Activities and Attractions

   On Kauai there is both fresh and salt water fishing, hiking,
biking, helicopter, boat, and ATV tours, snorkeling, SCUBA diving,
sunbathing, sailing or shopping. Or just lie on the hammock and read
or bake on the beach!

Vacation Rental Rates

$125-$150/night for one or two; $15 for each additional guest, plus
11.41% State Taxes and a $100 Cleaning Fee. Four night minimum/ two
weeks Christmas/New Year's. Rates include full breakfast stocked in
your private kitchen...just help yourself! Deposit
of 50% to hold reservations.
