Bob met us at the airport and took us to the market to buy supplies and the to the apt. It was beautiful, as decribed, and very close to the beach. also as decribed. It was clean and airy and all in all better than advertised, we thought. Bob was a gracious host and ask about our needs or anything we needed while we were there. He had a vehicle we could rent but it was so close to everything we wanted we didn't need it. We walked everywhere. It was relaxing and so enjoyable to walk, on the beach, everywhere we wanted to visit. The diving was great. The water activities were wonderful, but you would need to check them every day due to the weather. One restaurant we would suggest is the Pier 1. It is a little way west and it is a little pricey but it was great. Where else can you get good food and watch sharks at the same time? Our time there seemed to fly by thanks to the friendly people and the relaxed atmosphere. Oh, the cruise ships do make it busy at times but there again the people on the ships are, for the most part, friendly. The Lucayan market place has many restaurants and places to drink if you are so inclined. It also has live music on Friday and Saturday nights. All in all a wonderful time, great amenities and friendly people made this a memorable vacation for us.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Perfect place - Perfect location

We arrived in Grand Bahama on Saturday and the property is very easy to find and the location is perfect with easy access to Port Lucaya Marketplace, Solomons grocery store, gas and of course the beach. If you are here to dive, Grand Bahamas scuba is less than five minutes away. Be sure to have mac and cheese at the Grouper Grill, its great! Having stayed on several islands in the Caribbean, this is our second trip to Grand Bahamas and we find that this island is easy to navigate (even driving on the left side of the road), the people are friendly, the island is very safe and the diving is excellent.

Sandy and Bob met us the house when we arrived and they were very accommodating allowing us to stay after hurricane Sandy decided to pay us a visit! The house is very nice, sparkling clean and has all the comforts of home, tile floor throughout, granite countertops, full size refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. There is plenty of cabinet and counter space in the kitchen and the bathroom has plenty of space for personal items. The bedroom is larger with plenty of closet space and a dresser and night stand. The beach is a short walk; there is only one home between the beach and the property. If you are looking for peace and quiet with easy access to everything, this place is really the perfect location. We will be coming back to stay here again.
