Our home offers 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, hard wood floors through out, an oversized outdoor shower with two shower heads and 2 spacious decks on the ocean - the bottom deck wraps the entire house and offers shaded and sunny retreats for sleeping, reading or enjoying a cup of coffee.  With the ocean as your nearest neighbor our Ocean Front home is your own personal island retreat.  The home offers a fantastic amount of functional indoor and outdoor space.  The large decks allow you to soak up the sun and enjoy the view as well as the sound of the waves breaking on the beach.  Take in breathtaking sunsets while you barbeque your favorite meals on the gas grill and rest your weary body in one of the cozy teak lounge chairs after a hard day of clamming, surfing, sunning or picking shells on the beach. 

Living Area/Kitchen:

Our home features an open living area with ample seating for family and friends.  The main living area is upstairs and is surrounded by 5 floor to ceiling sliding glass doors bringing the unobstructed ocean views in.  If you choose to dine inside the dining room table seats 6 or if you prefer, as we do, dine outside and listen to the breaking waves with seating for 6-8.  For outdoor dining we have 2 outdoor teak tables (the upstairs table seats 6-8 and the downstairs table seats 4), there is also a small mosaic cafe table for two on the private side deck – perfect for that sunset glass of wine.  All of this plus an outdoor gas grill and amazing unobstructed ocean views!  We invite you to enjoy the true Fire Island Spirit...sand, surf and fun! 

Prepare dinner while enjoying the sunset and ocean views from your open kitchen.  The easy indoor/outdoor design of our home allows for easy flow from the kitchen, living room and dining room to the upper deck and gas grill.  Our comfortable cook’s kitchen is fully equipped with the family chef in mind; refrigerator, oven/ stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee pot, toaster, quality cookware and tableware.  For the grilling aficionado we have a gas grill ideal for clam bakes & easy summer dinners.  The large living room/dining area has 2 ceiling fans to keep the ocean breezes flowing through the house, a TV w/satellite, a DVD player, stereo with an Ipod connection, wireless internet connection as well as games and puzzles for indoor play. 

Bedrooms:

There are 4 large bedrooms, 3 downstairs and 1 upstairs.  The 2 downstairs ocean front bedrooms feature 2 floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that open onto the downstairs deck and the ocean.  Both of these bedrooms have queen size beds, dressers, ceiling fans, reading lamps, quality linens and unobstructed ocean views.  These rooms allow you to lie in bed at night and enjoy the cool ocean breezes while you listen to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach as they lull you to sleep. The 3rd downstairs bedroom features 2 twin size beds with quality linens, ceiling fan, large wall length windows for cross ventilation as well as wall unit air conditioner.  The upstairs bedroom features a queen size bed with quality linens, night tables with reading lamps, an extra large closet, ceiling fan and wall length windows for cross ventilation as well as wall unit air conditioner. 

Since our home is on the ocean all of the rooms are kept cool & comfortable by the on shore ocean breezes.  The best part is that the ocean waves can be heard breaking on the beach from all rooms in the house...the perfect backdrop to an extremely restful nights sleep!   Also, since we are situated on the dune, the predominant southwest summer breezes keep the house and decks relatively free of bugs and mosquitoes. 

Baths:

Our home has 2 full bathrooms.  The large upstairs bath has a shower, oversized linen closet and clean simple finishes.  The downstairs bath has the same layout, but has a shower/tub combination.  Quality bath towels and beach towels are provided for your convenience.  There is also an oversized outdoor shower with two shower heads for washing off sandy feet after a fun filled beach day! 

Location:

Our house is situated steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, The Great South Bay as well as the Sunken Forest.  Restaurants, grocery store, liquor store, ice cream shop, tennis courts, children’s playground, movies, shopping and children’s day camp (through September 1) are only a short walk or quick bike ride away. 

It takes approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes by train, car or private van to the Fire Island Ferry dock from NYC.  Then it is just a 25 minute relaxing ferry boat ride to the beach (parking is available at the ferry dock in Bay Shore).

Located only 50 miles from New York City, Fire Island is a barrier beach running parallel to the south shore of Long Island.  During the summer months there are no cars allowed on the island and it is only accessible by ferry.  Once on the beach everyone walks or rides their bicycles from town to town.  Red wagons are used all over the island to transport luggage, groceries, children and for those all important entrepreneurial “lemonade and painted shell stands”.  Fire Island is a place for children to run free and adults to relax.

Restaurants – There are a couple restaurants, pizza parlor & ice cream shop in Ocean Bay Park.  Ocean Beach offers even more restaurant choices.

This home is available for weekly, monthly or seasonal rentals.

Weekly rentals are from Monday 12pm noon - Sunday 4pm.
