Family Vacation over Christmas 2012 Huge Success

We had 10 people spend 1 week at Casa De Palisades over Christmas 2012 and it was outstanding. The home is impecabble and truly the pictures do not do it justice. It is HUGE but doesn't feel overwhelming and has tons of cozy places to hang out. We used 6 of the bedrooms and every one was decked out with all the bells/whistles and beautiful custom baths for each. The neighborhood is stellar as well and pretty close to everything if you want to go out..not sure why you would though. Pool table, ping pong, hot tub, in ground pool, putting green, movie theater room, 3 levels of private patios, big screen TVS throughout, wet bars on 2 floors, dart boards, just goes on and on. Great family place with plenty of room to spread out. The owner is also outstanding to work with. Even the smallest question/issue was treated as her top priority. It is an expensive home but worth every penny. The only items I would note and they aren't really criticisms but more a heads up to travelers: the bedrooms are spreadout on all 3 floors so if you have anyone with really bad knees/trouble walking, it is a lot of stair and they are all travertine tile. Some of our older guests had some trouble and stayed close to first floor. The other item is the house is a VERY high tech. Everything has a remote (or 2) and lots of buttons/etc. Some of our guests got frustrated with that. Honestly though, if those are the biggest issues, they aren't much. We will definitely consider going back. She has several other properties of smaller size/cost too so if this is too big but you like the style and all the bells and whistles, reach out and she can give you more options.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, tourists without a car

Best Vacation Ever!!!

Normally I don’t take the time to write reviews but my family and I had such a wonderful stay at this house I had to share my experience. Initially I had hesitation in booking the home after reading the review posted by another lady. After having stayed at the home I think that that other review must have been posted on the wrong house because there is no way any of it applies to this home. As a result of my recent experience I thought it necessary to write something detailing the most amazing experience of our lives! We’ll never stay at a resort or hotel again.

This 7 day vacation flew by and I can guarantee that we will be back again next year.

The Arizona golf, shopping, and sightseeing was great, but honestly, we never wanted to leave the house. These houses are fully loaded, not only is there a million things to do (from the putting green, full size card table, screening room, pool/hot tub and so much more…) but anytime we needed something we would turn around or open a drawer and it was provided. The owner has thought of everything and spared no expense to ensure that guests more comfortable here than they are in their own home.

I would recommend this house to anyone who asks. Five stars in our book! WE WILL BE BACK (we already booked the reservationJ)!

Terrible Experience!

A group of 8 Canadian golfers rented this house for 5 nights in early December 2011. In speaking with the owner and property manager, we were assured this house was a comfortable, high end rental house - as she put it "it is the same as staying in a Four Seasons resort". If this is what you are expecting - I would strongly recommend not booking this property. There are other nearby properties that are much higher end at the same price. 1. The furniture is cheap and tacky. Think - old black leather overstuffed sofa and chairs, with room for 3-4 people to sit at one time in one room. Our group of 8 could not all sit together at one time. There are two tables in the house. One in the kitchen and one in the formal dining room. They both seat 6 comfortably. So if your group is larger than 6 (we had 8 squeezed around a table with not enough room for chairs) this is not the rental for you. If you are 6 people or less, or don't mind eating in separate rooms, than this won't be a problem. 2. Many of the fixtures were either not working - or broke during our stay. My 65 year old mother had an entire cupboard door fall off as she was trying to reach for dish soap. The house has very cheap fixtures and is in desperate need of a renovation. 3. The pool and hot tub heater (which we had paid an extra fee to have heated during our stay) were not working properly. We showed up (in December) and the hot tub was freezing cold. The outdoor heaters were not working meaning we could not use the outside patios in the evening. I had gone over all of this prior to arriving - and Connie assured us it would be working. Well it wasn't. This obviously won't be an issue in the summer - but to pay an extra fee for a freezing cold hot tub in December was ridiculous. We weren't able to use it at all. 4. The house is large - but not an open concept space. Again - if your group is larger than 6 it is impossible to be together in the same space at the same time. 5. Beware - the video describing the house contains some false information. The "climate controlled wine cellar" is an empty concrete room. There is no chiller and no racking for wine. Yes there is wifi in the house - but it doesn't work very well. We had to move houses after two nights. It was not a pleasant experience. We moved to a less expensive house, and the owner did not reimburse us the difference in the price. Very disappointing, indeed. There are definitely better high end rentals to be found in this area!
