The Trailside Way Village Cul De Sac, East Side Shawnee Peak / Moose Pond:   'The Hive', completed in 2008, is one of 12 Log / Log Style Homes located on this quaint Mountain Cul De Sac at the base of Shawnee Peak and Moose Pond.  Trailside Way is off the beaten path which provides the privacy and serenity to 'GET AWAY FROM IT ALL'....while still providing direct access to Shawnee Peak’s Summit and Pleasant Mountain’s 10 mile Hiking Trail Network.   When the sun goes down, you and your 12 neighbors (which are never all occupied at the same time know matter what season) are the only ones on the East Side of the Mountain.  During the Spring, Fall, & Summer months, it is not uncommon to be the only family/group up on the mountain, giving it the feel of being out in the wilderness, but still so close to all the great enjoyments the The Western Maine Lakes Region / Bridgton / Naples / Sebago  & the North Conway, NH area has to offer.

'The Hive” Mountain Log Home Tour....Offering Trailside Simplicity:   Park your car in our 100 ft Driveway where there is extra Space to park 3-4 cars along with limitless parking available at the base of the driveway on Trailside Way as the road receives next to zero car traffic.  Step out of your car & within a few convenient steps is our Walk-In, First Level, Main Entrance making unloading your car a cinch, while our Grand Log Bench invites you to take a load off your feet.  Mohawk Trail is 20 feet from our Front Door.  'The Hive” Welcomes you into a Large, Antique Winter Sports Themed, Pine Studded Mud/Ski Room with two big Closets and plenty of hangers for all your sweatshirts & coats.   The Kids Large Playroom, with new 42’ Flat Screen TV, huge Sectional, and Board Games/Puzzles, allows the kids to have their own space, all while overlooking Mohawk Trail.  Two bedrooms each with a Large Bright Window and Bunk Beds Sleeps up to 10 people, while down the hall is a Full Bathroom, Separate Laundry Room, and Utility Room providing all the Conveniences of Home.

The Log Home Tour (Cont) Main Floor & 3rd Level/Loft:  Turn left at the top of the stairs brings you into 1 of 2 Bedrooms with a King Bed &  Full Double Bed (room has all antique furniture/decorations) respectively with Large Closets, Ceiling Fans, Lighting to read in Bed, and 1 Full Bathroom (Granite Counter) accented by Large Windows and plenty of Sun Light.  Turn right into our Gourmet Kitchen (Fully Stocked), with Stainless Steel Appliances, plush Granite Countertops, Double Sink, Dish Washer, Warming Oven, and Breakfast Bar (seats 4) with Rustic Oak Beams.  The Grand Room awaits you with a First Class Dining Room, which seats 10, Large Living Room with 20+ foot Cathedral Pine Studded Ceilings, Australian Cypress Hard Wood Floors, 42”Flat Screen TV, Surround Sound, Grand Field Stone Fireplace, and a very popular Chess Set.  Take your pick of one of four separate French Slidding  Doors which sweeps you outside onto your 75 ft of Wrap-Around Covered Porch/Deck overlooking Mohawk Trail, beautiful Hio Ridge, and the Sunnyside Triple Chairlift Loading Station.  Our gorgeous Wooden Staircase brings you to the quaint Loft/Den area where you can escape into a good book, surf the web at the Office Desk (large monitor available), do the 'Moose Pond' Puzzle, or sip wine at your Log Cocktail Table overlooking The Sunnyside Chairlift.  Our new Leather Couch also easily folds down into a nice sized Double Full Bed.  The Huge Master Bedroom with King Log Bed and Master Bath (Full sized) is to the rear of the Loft area and has great views of  the Shawnee Peak Summit and incredible Sun Rises over Moose Pond / Hio Ridge right from your King Sized Log Bed.

Andrea & I have enjoyed hosting  some 40+ Families/Groups since Nov 2011 and  put tremendous pride into decorating “The Hive” to the season, with a Quaint, Traditional, Old/Antique, Classic, Country New England Style.  This attention to detail and personal touch, has helped  create a very special character, a unique charm, and a warm homey feel  to “The Hive” that is hard to describe, and hard for many to remember a time away they felt this same way.

View/Location: Lake View : 300 yards away from Moose Pond. Mountain View : Overlooks Hio Ridge with great sunrises. Great views up Mohawk Trail to Shawnee Peak Summit, Lower Appalachian Trail, and the Sunnyside Triple Chairlift. Ski-In/Out 20 feet from front door down a slight embankment and you are on Mohawk Trail with the Sunnyside Triple Chairlift (to the summit) Loading Station and East Side Lodge a few hundred feet below. Front Door Access to 10+ Miles of Maintained Hiking Trails & 40+ Ski Trails.  Communications: Telephone. Cell Phone : Most cell phone companies have very good coverage. We have Verizon and the coverage is excellent. Computer: A computer Monitor with two stereo speakers, mouse/mouse pad, and computer power cord are ready to utilize on antique desk with chair in the Loft. Broadband Internet : Broadband is available in main level Living Room. The home also has Wireless Internet/WiFi (Wireless Internet). Other Amenities: Front of Log Home is virtually all Glass Windows overlooking Mohawk Trail, Sunnyside Triple Chairlift with Mountain views. Main Level Great Room has 20+ foot high Cathedral Pine Ceilings, Australian Cypress Hard Wood Floors (very unique). 3rd floor Loft has wide Pine Hard Wood Floors. Laundry room on 1st floor. Rest of home has wall to wall carpeting other than bathrooms, laundry room, and Mud/Ski Room which are tile. Driveway is lengthy at 100+ feet long and is plowed first thing in the morning by Shawnee Peak's Plowing crew. Seasoned Firewood is provided on and under the Covered Porch. Huge Log Bench to sit outside in the Sun next to first floor entrance. Sleds of all kinds/makes are provided in the Ski Closets & Utility Room for late afternoon/nightime Sledding.....just turn on the spotlights on the main floor. Several Rustic Chairs and Table provided for Covered Porch/Deck Seating - Movable Fire Pit with rustic outdoor seats with separate stash of firewood. Two Terrain Parks, & Snowmaking on 98% of terrain allows for 245 skiable acres. Shawnee's Night Skiing until 10 pm is Northern New England's largest and extremely popular on 19 Trails.
