Church Pond Waterfront home in Saranac Lake

Comfortable, relaxing home in a stunning location

A group of six of us (male and female, all early 30s) plus a dog stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend, travelling up from New York City. The house is large, clean, and comfortable with three bedrooms that can sleep up to 10 (although more than 6 adults would be a bit of a squeeze), two fully equipped bathrooms, a large kitchen and living room, direct access to Church Pond (which is actually a huge lake) and a deck on the first floor with an idiot proof barbecue. The pier that juts out into the pond is an ideal sunbathing location, too. In general, the photos on this site really don't do justice to how nice the place is!

The owners are great. Really welcoming and accommodating, evening providing guests with a rowing boat, two kayaks and a pedeloe to use for no extra charge! They sent us all documents, driving instructions etc in advance, and our deposit was returned promptly.

The Adirondack region is just amazing, and the location of this property is ideal in terms of providing a secluded place to relax without being too far away from civilisation, with the nearest town being about a 20min drive away (Saranac Lake to the north, Tupper Lake to the South). We did not go out to eat at any point during this trip, but from a previous visit I know that Saranac Lake has a number of good cafes and restaurants that are worth checking out if you don't feel like cooking. If you plan to eat in most of the time it is a good idea to do all shopping up front as repeat shopping trips to the nearest towns would get annoying.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to the region. Even if you have restricted mobility there is a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor as well as the deck, kitchen and living room, and there are no steps or tricky pieces of terrain between the property and the lake.

In summary, we had a fantastic time. It was well worth the drive and I know that everyone in our group would happily stay at this property again.
