vacation rental description
Bearfoot Lodge is a beautiful, comfortable, and versatile home located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. At an elevation of 3,500 feet and with an almost-360 degree view, Bearfoot Lodge claims "the best view in Macon County." Bearfoot Lodge is just as perfect for a memorable holiday gathering or a big family reunion as it is for a secluded writer's or artist's retreat. Venture off the beaten path and settle in at this serene mountain-top home.
Featuring a wraparound deck, Bearfoot Lodge looks out on the neighboring mountains and lush, peaceful valleys of the Appalachian foothills. Our two-story home is fully appointed and tastefully decorated. Spend your mornings on the deck watching the sun climb over rosy-peaked mountains or enjoying the shimmering hummingbirds that visit the feeders. Rock the afternoons away listening to wind in the treetops or watching dozens of goldfinches. Inside, enjoy use of the gourmet kitchen, stereo, CD and VCR/DVD players, satellite dish, and gas fireplace. As the sun sets into blue mist and fireflies appear, gaze into the brilliant, star-studded sky and identify your favorite constellations.
Bearfoot Lodge is located at an elevation of 3,500 feet at the summit of Shope Mountain in Otto, about 15 miles south of Franklin, NC. It is just 2 hours north of Atlanta off Highway 441, near Highlands, NC and Dillard and Clayton, GA. It is an easy 90-minute drive to Asheville.
