vacation rental description
A charming beach cottage that gets “oohs and ahhs” from the moment you arrive. Sea Biscuit House is a Summer Haven favorite, a sleepy away-from-it-all neighborhood where bare feet and lazy afternoons are always on order. Whether finishing a book or squeezing fresh lemonade is your most arduous task each day, life at Sea Biscuit House unfolds at a perfection vacation pace. The house is set up in a Zen like manner - simple and comfortable. This is just a great place for a vacation. Bring the kids and dogs - everyone can safely roam here! This home sleeps five guests in two bedrooms and your pets are very welcome to join the fun, too. Summer Haven, a thin strip of heaven between the Atlantic Ocean and picturesque Matanzas River, celebrates its 125th birthday in 2010. As such, this historic hamlet with a gas station and conveience store and a restaurant has an unhurried air and gladly transports visitors back to a simpler time. A perfect place for your next family vacation, fishing, swimming and happy strolls are ideal ways to spend your days. Laced with history, the home has been recently rebuilt to accommodate modern comforts and to increase guest comfort. As an oceanfront property, you get nonstop access to gorgeous views, perfect sunrises and - if you’re lucky - sea turtle sightings. Summer Haven is believed to have more nesting sea turtles than any beach in the area. Dolphins, too, are a common sight to ecstatic visitors - bring the binoculars and keep your camera ready! Enter into a very bright and cheerful living room, with double-aspect ocean views from many large windows. Filled with happy sunshine from sunrise, you’ll love the cool tile floors and overhead ceiling fan. Choose to leave the windows open for that priceless extra - the sound of crashing waves. A massive arm chair and matching ottoman are the best spot on earth, while your family can curl up comfortably on the large couch opposite. Watch TV together or listen to music - Jimmy Buffet, naturally. A small deck is just outside, with a paved walkway to exciting things beyond. After the sun goes down, relax and share favorite memories of the day. Four tropical chairs ring a glass-topped dining table in a comfortable dining area that opens to the kitchen. This modern space has new wooden cabinetry, a long, L-shaped counter and is fully equipped with appliances and cookware. Your master bedroom has its own access to the outside - making it easy to sneak out for sunrise or an early morning beach run. White wicker furniture is splendid in this adorable cottage bedroom, particularly the comfortable bed dotted with palm trees. Twin beds in the second bedroom are striped and comfortable. An en suite bathroom for your guests makes this home especially sweet. Both bedrooms boast chests of drawers, ceiling fans, TVs and large windows. Both bedrooms have ocean views, as does the family living room. Two bathrooms provide for great privacy and ample space. A single-level property, Sea Biscuit is a great choice for guests with small children or older relatives. This 1,000 square foot house seems twice its size thanks to its enviable ocean backyard and nonstop views. As a Family HQ while hopping, skipping and jumping between water-sports and endless sun, the cottage has everything you need. Note: Due to Summer Haven beach erosion concerns created by Tropical Storm Faye, there is now an area of large boulders blocking the beach access points closest to the property. This is a matter of much press (and legal battles) as a private home owner did to protect his beach home which in turn blocked the public access point. Although you can walk in between these boulders to access the beach like the locals that live near by, the nearest easy beach access is approximately 1 mile north at Fort Mantanzas National Park. It has (free) paved parking and provides beach access via a meandering boardwalk through the park. It takes approximately 5 minutes to walk this boardwalk
