vacation rental description
Experience country living with all the amenities of home! This rustic cabin is located 4.5 miles south of Williams (4 miles on paved Perkinsville Highway and .5 miles on a well-maintained dirt road) in a very quiet corner of Kaibab National Forest with plenty of Ponderosa Pine trees surrounding the 10 acre parcel. The property is set up for horses, including a large corral and smaller corral for boarding, as well as a round pen. There is a gate with access to national forest located both north and east of the property. People without horses are welcome as well! There is one bedroom downstairs with a California King Sleep Number bed. The upstairs bedroom has a Tempurpedic Queen bed and a full size futon. There is a small loft with a twin bed and there are also two roll-away cots with foam mattresses and egg crate mattress toppers. There are two 3/4 bathrooms in the main house and there is a small bunk house with its own 3/4 bathroom and a futon "flip-flop" sofa that can sleep 1-2 people. The galley-style kitchen has granite countertops and rustic maple cupboards as well as stainless steel appliances. There is a dining area and a large living area featuring vaulted ceilings, tongue-in-groove wood, and many windows with fantastic views of Bill Williams Mountain. The best part of the cabin is the large deck with views of the meadow and the mountain. Many times in the evenings, large herds of elk and deer can be spotted in the meadows. Additionally, Dog Town Lake is located within a mile of the home and there are several others just a short drive away so bring your fishing poles! Horse owners please bring your own feed. Water is provided. Horses must be kept in corrals (no grazing in private meadows). No off-road vehicles allowed. No smoking allowed in the home (outside ashtrays will be provided-please use to avoid causing forest fires).
Please note: The main source of heat in the cabin is a pellet stove in the great room as well as a wood stove near the dining area/pool table. This means that during the colder months (generally October-in the evenings and early morning- through December) fires will have to be built and tended to. The owners will provide pellets and wood and also post directions for using the wood stove.
We have winterized and closed the cabin beginning January 2013 until the first of May.
