Villa de Amor is perched on top of a mountain overlooking the beaches of Malpais and Santa Teresa. The owner of this villa used to own the entire mountain, and kept the very best spot for himself, where he built his dream house. The views are absolutely breathtaking - you can see the waves breaking on Sunset Reef, Los Suecos, Mar Azul, and other beaches below, as well as the entire coastline to the north, and Cabo Blanco national park to the south.
The house style is pure Costa Rican... very open with spectacular panoramic views from every room in the house, and a large roof overhang all around to keep the home cool. The entire house has an extensive tiled deck all around, and beautifully maintained tropical gardens.

Villa de Amor has a very large swimming pool, and even though Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches are only a 5-minute drive down the hill, many guests spend most of their time hanging out at the private pool because it's so spectacular and comfortable. The "hot tub" isn't heated, but its small size means that it's always several degrees hotter than the pool and is quite comfy, even at night. Both the pool and hot tub are warm enough to swim in all year.
The bedrooms have AC but you'll never need it since there's always a nice breeze, and the 400-ft elevation above the beach means that it's cooler and less humid than at sea level.
The villa has cable TV in both bedrooms, and WIFI throughout the house.
Each bedroom has its own full bathroom and a king size bed. The living room has a sofa that folds into a double bed. The mattress on a second sofa can be used for a child so the house really sleeps 6 adults and 1 child.

The Malpais/Santa Teresa area was voted the #1 beach town in Central and South America, and in the top 10 worldwide. Forbes magazine voted it to be one of the top 10 most beautiful beache areas in the world as well.
Just below Villa de Amor are four great point breaks: sunset reef, mar azul, malpais secret spot, and punta barragona. The Malpais area has many beaches, coves, snorkeling spots, etc and then Santa Teresa just to the north (10 mintes drive from the house) has even more beaches and surfing.
Other favorite things to do include riding horses on the beach or in the nearby jungles, hiking to the waterfalls in Montezuma (25 min away), dining out at any one of the area's dozens of great restaurants, scuba diving, boat trips to Tortuga Island, Zip Line / Canopy Tour, Butterfly Gardens, and visiting Cabo Blanco National Park.
