Eastside Cottage in Skaneateles

Our cottage is located about half way down the east side of Skaneateles Lake on a wooded 1/2 acre overlooking 140 ft of private lake frontage. The cottage was built in the 50's. When we bought it, we decided to do very little except to change some furniture. We love arriving and feeling we are in another more tranquil time. There is a bedroom with a double bed and another with 2 twins. The back porch is enclosed and leads to a lovely stone patio and then down to the lake. There are approximately 40 steps down to the water where you can enjoy sun from late morning right through to spectacular sunsets. Take a break during the day for a swim, a paddle or a sail. 

Very basic but cute. We have a stove, refrigerator, linens, clothesline, cd player, shower no tub, wood burning fireplace, books, cards, games, hammock, charcoal grill, picnic table, dinghy and Sunfish. 

We do not have a dishwasher, washer, dryer, wifi, cable, TV, phone. Cell phone reception is good. No smoking no pets.

The village offers many diversions including boatrides, shopping, restaurants, the annual Antique Boat Show in July, Sunday polo matches nearby during July and August, Skaneateles Music festival during August, famous Borodino pancake breakfast on certain Sundays throughout the summer. Take advantage of historic sites such as the Seward House in Auburn and the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls.
