Timberidge; "The Smoky Mountains Most Unique Community of Gatlinburg
Cabins", featuring authentic log cabins built in approx. 1850.
The name of this cabin says it all, "Memories", Nestled in the
wooded seclusion of King's Ridge, this authentic 1 bedroom log cabin
is a great spot to get away from it all, but also close enough to
enjoy the city of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. Inside you'll find a
genuine frontier feeling permeating the home, all within the
comforts of modern dwellings. Decorated with Antiques with a
Victorian, Romantic theme, perfect for Honeymoon, Anniversary or
just time away from home. Downstairs there's a fully furnished
kitchen with new cabinets and appliances. 1/2 bath & Dining Area
with plenty of space, living room is nicely furnished with a
comfortable sofa in front of a wood-burning fireplace, Cable TV with
DVD/VCR combo. Upstairs in the loft, you'll find the master bedroom
with victorian style king size bed, private bath with separate sink
and cable TV with DVD/VCR combo. The loft gives this area a true
sense of space, thanks to the lack of the traditional 4 walls. As a
result you'll love moving through the house and it will quickly feel
like home. Don't forget the rear porch: here you'll find the large
hot tub, several rocking chairs and a gas grill. A new deck wraps
around the side of the home making it accessible from outside the
front of the cabin.
History Of Timberidge:
Daniel Boone led the first settlers across the Applacian Mountains
through the Cumberland Gap in the summer of 1773. That adventuresome
group of settlers remained a short six months before hardship sent
them back to the Carolinas. Three years later Boone led another
group through the Gap and founded the first permanent settlement
west of the mountains. This was the beginning of the westward
expansion of the United States.
During the next century, an endless stream of brave and determined
pioneers built their homesteads in the valleys and mountains of East
Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina while overcoming
unimaginable hardships.
From the vast forests of virgin pines and hardwoods they cut and
carved by hand the logs used to build these sturdy Gatlinburg cabins
that were needed to protect them from the elements, while clearing
enough land to grow the food necessary to sustain life.
These remarkable individuals have long been gone but their legacy
lives on in TIMBERIDGE.
