The Atlantic Ocean looks close enough to touch from the balcony of our 2nd-story condo, Hibiscus 203-A on St. Augustine Beach. You will find the perfect vacation spot in this airy, open-plan condo, convenient to everything from the Old City to great golf!

Hibiscus 203-A is in a full-amenity condo community boasting 3 swimming pools, 2 Jacuzzis, a fitness center, and much more. A private boardwalk leads you over the dunes and down to the beach from the tropically landscaped grounds. You’re just minutes from the city here, but it seems so remote and unspoiled!

Hibiscus 203-A is designed with the vacationer in mind. We have tried to provide everything here, from all kitchen equipment and dishes to a sofa sleeper, a washer/dryer, and free wireless Internet service. Spacious, spotlessly clean, and well maintained, you will love everything from its location to its view to its comfortable, pleasant rooms!

The balcony is your window on the world at Hibiscus 203-A. Accessible from both the living/dining area and the master bedroom, it is covered to provide some shade during the heat of the day, and overlooks a lovely expanse of ocean. Wander out here early in the morning and watch the pelicans soaring over the surf, fishing for their breakfast. Or, if you get up really early one day, you can even catch the magnificent sunrise over the horizon! Breezy and beautiful, it’s the view you’ll remember long after your time at Hibiscus 203-A is done.

Of course, you can enjoy the view from indoors too, thanks to the big sliding-glass doors into the open-plan living and dining area at our condo. Everything about this space is light, welcoming, and laid-back, from the comfortable chair, with a beautiful view of the ocean, to the sofa that opens up into a bed for 2. Turn on the TV, pop a movie into the DVD player, or put on some music. The kids will probably sprawl out on the floor with their toys, and their parents can enjoy a cold drink in the cool air conditioning of the condo. You’re right at home already!

Our dining area continues the theme of light and casual, with a bright table surrounded by cushioned chairs beneath a good light – perfect for family board game night or a poker tournament! 

Just beyond the dining area is the galley-style kitchen, ready to go for anything you care to cook. Stop for groceries at the market on the way into town and you’ll be all fixed up here! Even if this vacation is centered on eating out rather than cooking in, it’s nice to know that you have a blender, coffeemaker, icemaker, microwave, and dishwasher just in case you need them – not to mention full sets of dishes and all the gadgets and gizmos you seem to need at the beach.

The washer and dryer is convienttly located in the guest bath room when you want to throw a load of beach towels and swimsuits in on your way out of the condo in the morning! With all the swimming pools and spas here at Hibiscus, plus the alluring white sands and gentle waves of St. Augustine Beach, your beach togs are going to get a workout!

And when the day is over and the last story has been read or cards dealt, everyone retires to a thoroughly comfortable, restful bed at Hibiscus 203-A. The master bedroom is one of the showpieces of the condo, with a queen-sized bed, private TV, and sliding-glass door access to the oceanview balcony. There’s an en-suite bath here as well, yours and yours alone!

The second bedroom is great for children, grandparents, or friends traveling with you. It contains a queen bed as well as a single, and is convenient to the second bathroom. And don’t forget the sleeper sofa in the living room for guests or “slumber parties” for the kids!

Perfect Location...upgrades needed

The view of the ocean was fantastic. The furniture needs updating...sofa and loveseat were too soft and the love seat skidded backwards every time someone sat on it. There were only 2 kitchen towels and the beach towels were more like car washing rags! The there was only one towel and wash cloth per person for an entire week! The glasses to drink from looked like every odd glass someone could come up with and most were only about 3-4 inches tall. There were 2 regular size glasses and 2 unmatched wine glasses. A DVD player was mentioned on the listing but a VHS was in the living area and it was not hooked up. There was a DVD player in one of the bedrooms but it did not work. The very helpful maintenance person did go to the office for us and brought more towels and hooked up a new DVD player. The closets were filled with old pictures and appliances..not much room for items brought. We had a leak that the plumber could not determine where it was coming from on the second floor so we ended up with a 5 gallon bucket in the middle of the kitchen to catch the water. This blocked the opening of the fridge so we were dripped on each time we moved the bucket to open the frigde door. The sliding glass doors did not lock. Also, the beds had plastic pads on them that crackled when you moved around in bed. This condo is in such a wonderful location and it would take only a small investment to upgrade the plastic sheets, purchase new glasses for the kitchen, and purchase new towels and wash cloths. And, cleaning out all the closets and pantry would help tremendously. The rental company was willing to fix the leak but it was going to take some time to find it. We just didn't want workmen in the condo for an indefinite period of time. So much potential but really needs updates.

Nice view, beautiful beach, A Few Upgrades Would Make it Perfect

Kitchen, baths, and floor tile are nice upgrades. Master bed has a comfy mattress. Location near beach, walkways, and pool is prime, BUT a few small expenditures would really go a long way: 1. invest in a DVD player; VHS tapes are obsolete so it's not a usable amenity ($30) 2. Invest in a new toaster that doesn't pose a fire / burn hazard. ($15) 3. More glassware that is not juice sized. 4. Nicer linens on the beds including sanitary pillow covers that can be replaced as stained ($8). Cheaper than replacing pillows, which is needed now that they are stained from use. 5. Non-plastic mattress covers which are very hot and crunch when you lay on them. Soft water-resistant covers are a better idea. They breathe and repel water. 6. Deep clean carpets and upholstered furniture. This must be done every year at the end of summer rentals. 7. Fix the WiFi. It didn't work for us so we ended up having to use a neighbors that was unlocked. 8. Have maintenance replace the rollers on the sliders that aren't working. 9. Touch up the walls downstairs that are banged up. 10. Get rid of messy wire hangers in closets and use plastic ($3). We owned a rental in FLA for over 10 years and understood we competed with every hotel room and condo in our area. Poor linens and old electronics don't inspire folks to become repeat customers, and don't bring in long-term winter renters. It makes a renter feel the owner doesn't care about their property or guests. This could be a fabulous place with a few easy upgrades and some attention to freshening it up and getting it to standard with the little things even an inexpensive hotel would provide for a smaller per night cost.

beautiful view; property was advertised as having a DVD player downstairs, it had a non operable VHS player; doors to both porches did not open up all the way, and screens were stuck in the half way position, could not move them.
