Vacation Rental Description

Villa Balam Ek:    
is an ocean-front, private home located ½ Mile  from central Akumal.  
This beautiful house is designed taking advantage of the Caribbean  
breeze and the view to the ocean  from every room in the house.  
There  are simple and elegant Mexican decorations in every detail of  
this villa. 
 
The patio leads out to a beach and snorkeling access into Half Moon  
Bay. The beautiful small round pool is seating in a large wooden  
deck where the panoramic view invites you to relaxation with the  
drink of your predilection in reclining chairs. 
In the upper floor is the master bedroom with a king size bed, a  
large dresser closet and a full bathroom with bathtub.  There is a  
balcony in the master bedroom with panoramic view of the  
Caribbean. There is also a small bedroom with a single bed and  
private balcony next to the Master bedroom. 
 
The second bedroom upstairs it have two queen size beds and one  
single bed, also this bedroom has full bathroom and a large window  
with ocean view. 
Down stairs is the third bedroom with a king size bed, it has a  
large sliding glass door that leads out to a private terrace  
surrounded by plants  and the beautiful ocean view. 
 
Main house bedrooms, has ceiling fans and air conditioning. 
 
Living room: The living room down stairs has spacious area, very  
comfortable and relaxing, with concrete embedded furniture, details  
in wood and colorful Mexican style cushions; There is a small closet  
with a TV/DVD/VCR, videos, satellite TV. also a radio-stereo and  
CD Player. 
 
Dining room: The dining room has a big wooden table with six chairs  
which are upholstered in a colorful fabric. 
 
Kitchen: is decorated with a Mexican style beige and blue colored  
Talavera tile. It's fully equipped including, refrigerator, stove,  
microwave, toaster, blender, coffeemaker, in the pantry, you can  
find all the utensils, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, casserole  
dishes, baskets for bread and tortillas, purified bottle of water,  
cooler, candles, lighter, etc.    
 
In the large terrace there is also a Grill, if you wish you can  
have your own meal prepared at home. (Cook is extra, the maid is  
also the cook).  
 
The house also have an attached two story studio with delicate  
decoration, upstairs is the bedroom with a king size bed, closet,  
full bathroom with a Jacuzzi, and large balcony with  
hammocks and chairs to enjoy the  great view of the coconut trees  
and the turquoise water of the Caribbean sea. Downstairs is the  
living and dining area with complete kitchen, stove, refrigerator,  
all the utensils. There is also a terrace with chairs. This is  
perfect for a couple and a child.

Activities and Attractions

Diving: 
Open water, cenote, cave and cavern diving excursions and tours  
throughout the Riviera and Dive trips can be arranged through “The  
Akumal Dive Shop”, You also can have dive package included with the  
rental of the house. 
 
Go for a Bike Ride 
Because Akumal is a small place, renting a bike is a good idea and   
is a great relief from long walks in the heat and definitely good  
fun. There is a dirt road next to the new high way, where you can  
reach by bike the different sites of interest, Aktun-chen, xelha,  
Xpu-Ha, or just ride to the jungle in front of Akumal.    
 
Jungle walk: 
The caribbean sea is an obvious attractions for those seeking the  
warm, invigorating water and relaxation under the sun. There is  
more to see and do, this area open the door to new adventures in to  
the jungle where you learn more about our marvelous flora and  
fauna. The wonders of the wilderness unfold while taking a walk.   
You can take a trail with colorful species of tropical birds fly   
through forests of towering trees, Mayan Ruins and cenotes in the  
heart of the exotic jungle you can see. 
 
Sport Fishing & Diving are available at the Dive Shop, which has   
great guides fishing tours with all the equipment and you can go  
with your family.    
 
Yoga 
Breathing, stretching, alignment and relaxation techniques. We also  
have Yoga class in Akumal. Check the schedule in the information  
folder in the house. 
 
Restaurants and night events. 
Akumal offers excellent variety of restaurants with local and  
international specialities, Mexican, Italian, seafood, etc. LOL HA  
Restaurant, Enjoy dance shows with your dinner, wednesday is  
flamenco night and friday the Playa Cultural Dance Group performs  
regional Mexican dancing.   
 
Also at the Akumal Stage there are great presentations, live music  
with national and international bands, theather groups, dance group  
and much more. Not to be missed!!! 
 
Everything is close at hand and easy to get to. Most of the  
attractions and ancient archaeological sites are less than an hour  
from Akumal. Tulum 27Km. And Muyil 37 South of Akumal, Coba located  
42kM. northwest of Tulum. Along the high way 307 you can find most  
of the site of interest: Cenotes (sinkholes), lagoons, beaches,  
Xcaret, Xelha, Aktun-Chen cave, jungle, Biosphere reserve, and  
more….
