Private New 5 bedroom in Gated Island Community in Harbor Island

This lovely new house in a gated island community has five spacious bedrooms all uniquely decorated in coastal style.  The living area has an open floor plan that combines the TV room, dining and kitchen together to make a space ideal for visiting and conversation.  The large screened back deck which overlooks an ocean filled lagoon is the perfect place to relax no matter the time of day.  It has a hammock, rockers and an outside dining table all under fans that keep the area breezy and comfortable.  The kitchen is well stocked with many dishes and any needed pot, pan or utensil.  The first floor master bedroom has a queen bed and large private bath with a clawfoot tub as well as a shower stall and double sinks.  The second floor master has a queen and double bed as well as a private bath. Two of the other bedrooms have queen beds with floor space to accomodate a pack-n-play or air mattress.  The kids bedroom is decorated in a nautical theme and has 4 twin beds.  Our beautiful house is located in a wooded and private part of Harbor which is a welcome respite to the SC sun.

There is a golf cart that is a favorite way to get to the island pool or beach access. There are some adult bikes or bring your own to tour the island which is about 3 miles in length.  The house also comes with wi-fi and a large flat screened TV in the family room.  Each bedroom has its own TV with the exception of the kids room.  The island clubhouse has a large inviting pool that overlooks the expansive and scenic  Harbor River.  There is also a kiddie pool and playground in the fenced-in gate.  Also available at the clubhouse is beach volleyball, tennis courts, basketball court and a workout room.  There is a highchair, toddler table, pack-n-play and infant saucer available in the house.

Harbor Island has a long expansive and natural beach that is perfect for long walks and exploring.  There is a dock in which you can crab or fish and can often get a close look at an alligator from above.  Next door to the island is a state park, Hunting Island, which has large waves, large beach and good seashell hunting.  It has a climable lighthouse and many walking trails that take you through the natural habitat.  Also nearby is kayak and jet ski rentals that allow you to explore numerous rivers and tidal creeks. If golf is your forte', there is a beautiful course on Cat Island about 15 min away which is open to the public.  Historic downtown Beaufort has a waterfront part with playground and swings which overlook the marina and river.  It is lined with restaurants and is a great place to spend the afternoon.  There is no shortage of fresh wonderfully prepared seafood in Beaufort!  Main street is filled with nice boutiques as well as touristy beach shops.  Bluffton, right outside Hilton Head Island, has outlet shopping and is a scenic 45 min drive from Beaufort.  We also like to visit Savannah for a day trip.  My personal favorite thing to do though is to grab a good book and a cold drink and settle into the hammock for the afternoon.
