Old Mandeville is the quiet side of New Orleans,one of the most vibrant, resilient cities in the world. Only 24 miles across the lake is this quaint village (est. 1842 with historic architecture, Saturday market, and wonderful spots to eat play,hear music and experience Southern small town friendliness. Our waterfront townhouse is perfect to bring friends and family together for special times to create memories or renew those romantic feelings. The upper floor offers 2 bedrooms and full bath with the experience of mezzanine living that allows both privacy and connection to the lower level. This floor has a full kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel new appliances and a half bath down the hall. The living room and dining area flow into the private patio with your fishing/crabbing pier on the bayou only 20 ft away. Our home includes a large HD/LED TV with 225 channels, DVD, bbque pit, 2 bikes, fishing poles, and the luxury of a boat for paddling for gator/bird spotting. Our Dew Drop Getaway is across the street from the 31 mile walking/biking trail that connects you to Lakeshore Drive (2 blks away ), Fontainbleau State Park ( 2 miles away w/ beach ) and four other adorable towns nearby with unique personalities. Examples of fun places are Honey Island Swamp, Global Wildfire Center, Insta-Gator Ranch and Hatchery, and Abita Beer Brew Pub. In addition, you are only an hour away from plantation country south of Baton Rouge, and the casinos of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There is much to explore, a listing of festivals, and fabulous music happenings at the Dew Drop Jazz Hall (est. 1895 ) and Ruby's Roadhouse ( both within a mile ) . We promise you a feast for all of your senses. Come on down!
