Great cabin with a view, but washer ruined a bunch of expensive clothes

Kristina A. ()
Review submitted: June 16, 2013   Date of arrival: June 10, 2013

On the positive, I want to say that the cabin has a beautiful view and is a cozy cabin at the top of a mountain. Kim was very helpful with check in and made sure we arrived safely, and it was clean. I lost the code to the front door, and she texted the code to me within a few minutes. The back porch was very private, and we had a raccoon that would visit us. On the negatives, the master mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. We wanted to stay another night, but could not take another night sleeping in the bed. It took a little while to get down mountain and into town, so we only made one trip into town, for each day. The WORST thing hat happened is that I decided to do my laundry in the washer, the night before we left. After the washer had finished, i put our clothes into the dryer. It did not even dry the clothes. So, we just put them into a bag, to take home. When I got home, I opened the bag, to put the clothes into my dryer, when I noticed ALL the clothes had inch to half inch holes all over them, with an oil residue. They were new clothes bought right before the trip. Justice, Under Armour, Hurley, and Oakley. There is at least $300 dollars worth of clothes ruined. Sent pictures and messaged Kim. We later got a text that said sorry, and that she called the owner. Turned out to be the most expensive trip to Pigeon Forge ever!!!!

Owners response: Thank you for posting comments regarding Sully's Mountain Cabin Retreat. Our goal is to provide a great experience and comfort for every guest. After receiving this complaint regarding the washer and dryer issue, management inspected the unit (dryer did take a long time to dry a load) and the Owner was contacted immediately.
The washer/dryer unit was replaced with a new unit (within 5 days of the initial comment received) to assure the safety of guests and their clohting. We take comments received from our guests seriously and attempt to correct all issues whenever possible. We will continue to offer excellent customer service to our guests and provide a well maintained property.

Didn't want to leave!

I've vacationed in the smoky's several times over the last 8 yrs. I own a timeshare there but largely prefer the cabins most of the time. I've stayed at a few different ones and they were great but thus one is by far the best experience I've had. We drove past many other cabins going up the mountain and knew we were in for a treat (its up there) The view alone will blow you away. We couldn't pull ourselves away from it. We ate and did everything we could outside & when we wld leave out we couldnt wait to get back to it. I was surprised by the ammenities available, wifi, modern dishes, an arcade game, hot tub outside, inside, comfy clean beds, cable..it goes on. Kim was so awesome. She checked in on us and helped with anything we needed. This was an unforgettable stay and I honestly can't think of anywhere else I'd rather stay when I go to the smoky's now. Anyone who stays here will feel the same.

We want to live here!!!!!

Review submitted: December 1, 2012   Date of arrival: November 11, 2012

I can not even begin to describe how much we love this cabin! From the EXCELLENT service we received from Kim {she called the day we checked in just to check on us} to the magnificent view, there is nothing negative to report. The view is ridiculous! As soon as you walk in the door, you have to directly go the deck, it's where you want to stay. It was nice to have so much deck furniture too; that's a rarity. The cabin is spacious. Even though it was just the two of us, we plan on returning with our 21 yr. old son and feel that there is more than enough room for all of us to have privacy. We used this time to simply be together and loved everything about it. From the comfy furniture, the 2-sided fireplace, the jacuzzi, the hot tub...everything was AMAZING!!!!! You can not go wrong by renting this cabin. Ok, so one negative, we had to leave...lol. We will be returning. I told Kim upon check-out that this is the only place we will rent when we stay in Pigeon Forge. Every place we have stayed; condo, hotel and/or cabin, does not begin to compare to this one. We feel very blessed to have found this cabin. Psalm 147:4 says, "He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them." This is an awesome place to soak up God's goodness. The views of His creation are incredible from the deck. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We can't wait to visit again! May God greatly bless you!
