vacation rental description
This darling brick, completely renovated, 'alley house' on one of the best Mexican War Street blocks, dates from the mid 1800's. It has a sweet patio and walled garden set back from the street with lots of greenery and privacy but is only a few blocks from all the stadiums, the new casino, the Andy Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory (one of the country's premiere centers for art installations), the Aviary, the Science Center with an IMAX theatre, the Children's Museum, and downtown (less than one mile--an easy walk). Allegheny Park is one block away--great for biking and renting kayaks at the lake. The local pub is a block over, and our block, only one block long, is famous for its spontaneous 'stoopings' and very friendly neighbors. On the street parking is always available and very safe.

house rental amenities
There is so much to see and do in the 'Burgh and having your own pied a terre right in the middle of everything is the perfect way to do it. Troy Hill is nearby with its incredible collection of saintly relics from the 19th century (and earlier). The Southside and Shadyside with their shops, restaurants, theatres and clubs are a short ride. The convention Center and downtown are just across the bridge. The river with its walks, tour boats, kayaks, casinos, and other amenities is a short walk away. The neighborhood Monterey Pub is a classic with terrific food. Pittsburgh has got to be one of the most interesting US cities with its many distinct ethnic neighborhoods, hilly terrain, and Eastern European feel.
