Rain Forest Ecotourist Destination-El Yunque in Puerto Rico

Casa Picaflores is a rain forest retreat on the unspoiled side
of El Yunque, the Caribbean National Forest. We offer the space of
a vacation home with many of the conveniences and services of a
hotel, as well as optional meals. The property consists of the main guest house (Casa
Picaflores), and a small cabana for 1-2 people (Casita Zumbador).

The main guest house sleeps up to six guests comfortably (with one
or two more possible;), one master bedroom with queen-size bed, one
bedroom with choice of king or two twin beds, and one bedroom with a
full-size futon, which doubles as an entertainment center.

Casita Zumbador is a small, one-bed, one-bath unit approximately 12'
x 16', plus a small covered deck. It is designed for a few nights'
stay for hikers and young couples, not as a honeymoon suite or a
place to spend a week. See our site for more details.

Pets are not allowed inside the guest house, but feel free to bring
your dog. There is a covered area on the patio that is a fine place
for them to sleep.

We offer optional dinners every night in the Bohio, our private,
screened-in dining area and honor bar. Hot appetizers are available
to order from the menu, either at the Bohio or at the guest house.

The property also has the following organic fruit trees, which
produce at different times of the year and grace the breakfast
table: parcha (passion fruit),
grapefruit, mango, starfruit, orange, lime, lemon, acerola, avocado,
coconut, banana, red banana, papaya, jackfruit, breadfruit,
guanabana (soursop), loquat, limon dulce, caimito, and others. We
also have
teak and mohogany trees (not recommended for eating).

Hike trails to breathtaking views of the ocean, Vieques,
Culebra, and the Cays. Minutes to Taino petroglyphs, great beaches,
a casino, golf, and ferries out to the smaller islands. Take a day
trip out to Icacos or Palominito Cay for truly amazing snorkeling.
Horseback riding for kids and adults is available in Luquillo, about
half an hour away.

On the property, cool off in one of the natural pools on our
private stream. Six acres of rain forest property and gardens will
keep amateur botanists and naturalists busy. Just up the road, swim
in much larger pools, and climb boulders beside an impressive
cataract.

We also offer massages through a professional massage
therapist, either in the guest house or in the outdoor spa area,
surrounded by the rainforest.

Guest house rental:
August 16 - November 20: $150/night + 7% Tax.
November 21 - August 15: $190/night + 7% Tax

Couples' Special - Peak Season
(1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, plus all other amenities) $165 + 7% Tax/night

Casita Zumbador: $60/night + 7% tax, peak season,
$45/night + 7% tax off-season

Breakfast meal plan available for $10 additional per adult per
night, $5 per child over three. A la carte breakfast is also
available.
