WiFi is available free in the office during normal business hours and in the workout room at other times. activities and attractions in Galveston Texas
There is always something going on in Galveston! Winter Texans call it home coming from the midwest and northeast parts of the United States as well as Canada. Y'all come on down! "Winter" in Galveston includes events like Dickens on the Strand and Mardi Gras, spring brings us an IronMan Triathalon event, Sand Castle Building Competition, FeatherFest and of course Spring Break, and fall includes Lone Star Rally. Live musical and theatrical entertainment is available at the Grand 1894 Opera House, and there are frequent "art walks" featuring local artists.
Of course if you just want to sit on the beach and relax that option is always available. The Maravilla Resort is directly across Seawall Boulevard from the Gulf of Mexico. While there are steps that lead from the Seawall into the Gulf, this is not a sand beach but rather large rocks. Folks do walk in to swim and fish regularly, but if sand between your toes is your thing - there are beaches of all types from more secluded (without lifeguards, bath houses or eateries) to more public with lifeguard stands, restroom facilities and snack shacks within 1-3 miles of the complex and ample parking is available at these locations.
Galveston is growing! The Historic Pleasure Pier is being brought back with a carnival atmosphere,
rides, games, etc. Look for this to be completed in late May. Also, directly to the west of the Maravilla on Seawall Boulevard, the Marriott Corporation is constructing new hotel options for future visitors. Construction hours are somewhere in the vicinity of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and there is heavy equipment and at times more noise than others. Please don’t let this stop
you from coming as we have reduced our rates to accommodate for the inconvenience, even though the heaviest noise time is during the day when most of our guests are out sightseeing, at the beach, etc. The front building and some west side units at the Maravilla are undergoing a facelift with new siding and railings being installed. The units that we manage in these areas
during this time. There may be noise to some of the other units while this progress is being made. Some of the Maravilla units, likewise, are undergoing facelifts to their interiors and you may from time to time hear noise associated with that, but work hours end by early evening. Experience Galveston now, while our rates are lower!
