The Tram House, Austin's Best Secret in Austin

Overlooking Lake Travis in the Hill Country, this one-of-a-kind architectural gem is off the beaten-path and at the center of things. As you approach over tree-covered hillsides which drop to the midnight-blue water below, you’ll get more the impression that you are in the Greek Islands or southern Italy than in Texas.

Since the Tram House can only be reached by tram, you’ll park at the base of the hill, climb into the tramcar, and let your horizon expand as you are carried 210 feet up the 55 degree hillside to the panoramic views of Lake Travis. Built in perfect alignment with the slope of the hill and standing at ‘treetop’ height, it is the only house east of the Rocky Mountains that requires a tram to access.

The Tram House boasts three private balconies, custom-designed skylights, and corner windows in the living room and bedrooms that allow unobstructed views. The three-level, contemporary-style home is comfortably furnished with all new décor. It has been featured in Austin Monthly and Parade magazines.

The House is a 2 bedroom, both Master bedrooms with King Size Beds. It sleeps 4-6. We allow 6 people to stay in the house at that rate. After 6 people, extra people are $25/day.
