vacation rental description

"And a River Runs Through It"...Come stretch out and relax in our beautiful two story, 2300 square foot, three bedroom three bathroom house with reading room, game room, dining room and living room on 1.7 very private acres.  We've have room to easily sleep 12 in five seperate rooms in comfort [see pictures], all within the wonderful community of Mariposa.

Location
Located five minutes off of Highway 49, all county maintained paved roads and driveway to River House.  The all year East Fork of the Chowchilla River runs across the bottom of our property, where you can fish (California fishing laws apply), pan for gold (it's yours), dip your toes to cool off, or just enjoy the soothing river sounds and spectacular view from the private spa on our second story deck.

We're about 45 minutes by highway to the All Weather (Hwy 140) and South Park (Hwy 41) Yosemite National Park entrances when traffic is light.  We’re fifteen minutes from the historical town of Mariposa, where you’ll find the California State Mining and Mineral Museum, the Mariposa Museum and History Center, many restaurants, and a couple really great gift shops.  We are twenty minutes from the town of Oakhurst, and thirty minutes from the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino. We’ve provided a loose-leaf notebook to tell you all about the local sites and restaurants.

Wildlife
Deer and wild turkeys like the river and are present every day on the property even when we bring our dogs.  Of course you are bound to spot tree squirrels and perhaps a chipmunk, raccoon, or gray fox.  Hawks, turkey vultures, finch and hummingbirds frequent the trees.  Kick back and enjoy the show our wrap around, two stories, 1200 square foot deck or from our private outdoor spa.

The River House

The top floor has the wrap around upper deck, kitchen, living room, master bedroom with king bed, queen room with queen bed, reading room fold out futon double bed, and a full bathroom and master ¾ bathroom.  The bottom floor has enclosed lower deck, garage, bunkroom, game room, and ½ bath (sink and toilet only).

The upper wrap around deck has the spa outside the master bedroom sliding glass door, propane barbecue and picnic table outside the living room sliding door, swing and chairs to relax in by the dining room sliding door.  Relax to the sounds of the river and enjoy the fantastic view.

The kitchen is stocked with dish, glass and flatware sets of 12.  There is stoneware set and a plastic ware set (for outside use).  There are pots and pans for cooking, along with a rice cooker/steamer, microwave oven, blender, hand mixer, toaster, waffle maker, coffee maker and coffee bean grinder.  The refrigerator is equipped with filtered ice and cold-water dispensers.  You’ll be happy to know there is also a dishwasher.

The dining room tables seat six, and can be expanded to seat ten along with four additional barstools at the kitchen counter.

The living room has an awesome slate fireplace, 41" HDTV, satellite/HBO and Blue-Ray player, sofa, recliner and nice view.

The bottom floor has lower deck with wicker furniture enclosed by insect netting, garage with 220V RV hookup, washer, dryer, iron and ironing board, bunk room with two bunk beds (4 twin beds), game room with queen sofa bed, 31” HDTV, satellite/HBO, Blue-Ray/DVD player, Wii, mini fridge, and a half bath (sink and toilet).

Complimentary fresh coffee beans and cocoa from Mariposa Coffee are included for your stay, along with a bottle of wine from one of our local wineries for stays over 5 days.  We stock paper products, soap and shampoo.

Our current phone service does not have an option to go to voicemail prior to ten rings if we are unavailable.  We thank you in advance for your voicemail patience.

Let us be the home base for your Yosemite Vacation!

One of the Best Weekends of My Life

EmilyYosemite (Tarzana, CA)
Review submitted: April 11, 2013   Date of arrival: April 4, 2013

My friend Jon was turning 30 on April 2nd and my friend Igor was turning 37 on April 4th. My friends and I wanted to celebrate these two amazing people by having a nice, long weekend getaway - and that's exactly what we did! I contacted this rental property and had reservations within 48 hours. It was SO reasonably priced for how amazing the cabin was. It was spacious with all the amenities of home; a large fridge, coffee pot, soaps, conditioners, shampoos, coffee, full kitchen (with amazing knives), a great BBQ - I could do on for hours. It was perfect! We spent 1 full day in Yosemite and then (because the cabin was so beautiful) we decided to spend a full day just around the house. We panned for gold in the river and left with a small Tupperware container full of gold! I cannot be more pleased with my experience and the friendliness of the Kim and Keith. We are definitely going to be doing this on a yearly basis.

Lots of wildlife, beautiful spacious cabin/house

I highly recommend this place to everyone. It has everything you can possibly want. The property is in perfect condition, wifi, spa, cool area for the kids, lots and lots of deers running around everywhere and they came so close to us. There is a river in the backyard. We rented a lot of houses from this site and so far, this is by far the best. The owners are very nice, honest and fair.

Relaxing getaway

Review submitted: January 6, 2013   Date of arrival: December 30, 2012

This place was absolutely amazing. Its right in the middle of the forest. The sounds of the river below the property were so peaceful. The cabin was so spacious and comfortable. The owners had the place stocked with firewood so we enjoyed many nights snuggled up by the fire. The hot tub worked great and really felt good after a 2 hour walk around this quiet neighborhood. We also had a family of deer visit us every afternoon which was awesome. The kitchen had everything you need to make a meal for 12. Bbq worked great. Nice to have a washer and dryer too. Good place for a peaceful getaway with close friends and family. Will definitely be staying here in the future.

Owners response: Thank you for you kind words. We get all excited when we see the deer too.
