vacation rental description
Less than 1/10th of a mile from public beach access, this charming, waterfront 1/1 is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Gulf Blvd. Enjoy the Old Florida lifestyle of yesteryear. If you are looking for a McMansion, this is not for you. On the other hand, if you want to kick back and enjoy Island Life, this is the place! This is a throwback to the beach I remember as a child growing up in Treasure Island. Complete with friendly neighbors and lifelong residents, Lagoon Lane is a welcoming walk back in time. Indeed, the Owner's grandparents built this charming property in 1932. Like me, he grew up appreciating Treasure Island and has kept the property true to its roots. The interior has pecky cypress wood paneling, as was common in the more upmarket properties built on the barrier islands back in the day. Now a protected wood, it is only available in the reclaimed market. Of course, while keeping the original charm, the Grandson has also added new world comforts, like air conditioning, a modern kitchen, ceiling fans, and luxurious bedding, including a brand new quality queen-sized mattress.
Actually half of a duplex, the cottage is on a deep waterfront lot with dock and a fabulous view off of the Intracoastal Waterway. The tropical garden is a great retreat for relaxing or fishing. The Owners loved the home so much, they bought the neighboring property and restored it as well. As very accomodating hosts, their guests have a key to their garage, where a full-sized washer and dryer, as well as beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and other items to make your beach vacation more enjoyable are available for your use. Didn't I tell you there were friendly neighbors!
The cottage has a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with stainless steel range, microwave and full-size refrigerator. The cozy living room has a full-sized sleeper sofa and brand new flat screen HDTV with cable TV, wireless Internet and nationwide free long distance calling, including Canada. How 'bout that, eh?
Lagoon Lane Cottage is available for rental 365 days per year, with a 3-night minimum stay required. A single pet is permitted with a weight limitation of 25 pounds. While permissable, your pet must be well-behaved and respectful of neighbors, i.e., not a yappy nusiance! This is island living and even your dog is expected to be laid back and relaxed!

activities and attractions in Treasure Island Gulf Coast Central
Treasure Island is a centrally located barrier island in the Pinellas County chain. Recently Trip Advisor voted a Pinellas Barrier Island as the #1 Beach in America. That is because our beaches enjoy pristine, powder fine, white sand. The warm Gulf waters are perfect for swimming in almost all year round, unless you are a Snow Bird, in which case they are for year-round swimming!
Within walking distance there are many great places to explore, including John's Pass Village, where you can browse the shops, eat in a multitude of restaurants, including the Bubba Gump Shrimp Store, and enjoy many other local venues featuring world famous Florida grouper and fun entertainment. At John's Pass you can also hire watercraft from jet skis to charter fishing.
Fort DeSoto beach is a marvellous day trip. Pack a picnic and be prepared to explore. They have a lovely bike trail to enjoy, as well as the opportunity to check out the ruins of the Old Spanish Fort, for which this award-winning public park is named.
Busch Gardens is a 45-minute drive and a world-class amusement park. It is also a marvellous zoo.
There are many golf clubs nearby. Even many of the private course offer a day-pass. Closest to you would be The Tides, Bardmoor, Bayou Club & Lake Seminole. Putt-putt golf is also close and has a live alligator hazard!
Bike or walk the Pinellas Trail. Check out the local Saturday morning markets and craft fairs. There is no end to what you can do, and at the end of each day, you can watch the sunset over the glorious beach. Smile - you get to do it all again tomorrow!
