Very Nice

We had a great time staying here. The location was perfect for our family. The owners and caretaker were enjoyable to work with. The Marina was just down the street and we enjoyed walking and viewing all the boats. The house itself was very nice. Our only issues would be that the bathroom is in need of updating (cracked paint,ants,and very dated) and the oven doesn't cook evenly. We just grilled and used the stove top instead. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Fabulous location for running into St. Pete or over the bridge to Tampa.
Overall we would highly recommend this home, much more comforatble than a hotel.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: We had the heating coils in the oven replaced so that's working properly now.

We also had the bathroom redone with new tile, fixtures, etc. - we think that should resolve the issues mentioned and provide a better experience for our guests. We will post pictures soon.

My husband arrived loaded down with luggage and golf clubs and a very tight schedule to get into the house, store the luggage and get to a golf course to meet me and another couple for a tee time. Oscar was very prompt in meeting him and he actually beat the rest of us to the course. He and I returned after dark and very quickly got settled in the house for our week long stay. The house was clean, uncluttered and offered up everything we could have asked for. It was well equipped and throughout our stay the only things I looked for and couldn't find were tongs to turn the bacon and a spatula. During a shopping trip we managed to find these items and have added them to the kitchen inventory. We also left some canned goods that we were unable to consume. It would be nice to find something to eat upon arrival for anyone who arrives too late to pick up groceries and doesn't yet know where to get something to eat. Because it was late when we arrived, we didn't use the sunroom and so we didn't notice the extensive binder of local information that had been compiled for guests including takeout menus. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were spacious for a couple. The kitchen appliances were in good working order and easy to use.
Our only complaint - fairly minor would have to do with the shower. While the water temperature was very good it was impossible to adjust the spray to anything more than a very narrow stream. The shower walls are showing some signs of moisture damage from the shower and the humidity. A venting fan and a widespray shower head would make a big difference. We departed after 8 days,wishing the time had not gone by so quickly and looking forward to a return visit. We walked the area a bit and found the bus service easily accessible but having come to do as much golfing as possible, we rented a vehicle and found this location was very convenient to accessing golf courses because of proximity to 19. We wished we had more time to sightsee as there is so much to do but the purpose of our visit; relaxation and lots of golf was completely fulfilled.

Recommended for: age 55+, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: The bathroom was recently redone with new tile, fixtures, etc. So we're hopeful that will address the issues raised with respect to the bathroom, and provide a better experience for our guests.
