This was my first time on the tennis-side of Sea Colony. Really, the grounds are beautiful. The lawns are all neatly trimmed, flower beds weeded and still blooming, and water features abound.

The homes are spread out, well landscaped, as private as possible. This rental is in the middle of the neighborhood (yes, it really felt like a neighborhood). My kids and I took a couple extended walks from the canal to the entrance, criss-crossing on different paths they discovered. Many different trees and shrubs planted and well-kept everywhere. A truly lovely place.

We found the home to be very clean and neat. The large sectional with built-in chaise was very comfortable. I like the prints on the walls. There were many -- primarily nautical / beach themes but not over-the-top Beachy. The ottoman / butler table helped our tired feet and the dining area was laid-out perfectly. Tall sliding doors overlook the deck letting in as much light as you want.

The condo is clearly well-maintained. No chips or dings, drips or cracks. The place looks great. All the appliances worked just the way you hoped they would. The kitchen is a U-shaped galley and is equipped with all the basics and a fair bit more. (To be fair, though, we ate out most of the time or brought in take-out.) The televisions were a hit with my kids and I really appreciated the rock-solid WiFi connection. (Wireless connection info is on the bottom of the router in the Master Bedroom.)

Now -- the beds. My kids slept fine in the Front Bedroom, but I am 6' 8" tall and normally sleep in a pillow-top King. To me, the box spring was noisy and the bed was just too small for me. In the wee hours I found a generously sized blanket and headed for the sectional where I finished the night. (And slept there the next night, too.) My wife thought I was judging the bed harshly and she might be right. I'm not the person they designed it for -- that much is certain.

Like the home itself, the owners were also very pleasant and accommodating. Due to rather short notice, I asked if they would send the contract and keys with Next Day delivery. They did so happily.

We're going back. I liked the grounds, the cottage itself, the Sea Colony experience, the kind owners -- the whole package really. I hope you do as well.

We were originally booked into the nearby Holiday Inn Express. I can tell you that this place is far more comfortable and charming than any chain you'll ever find.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway
