Come visit our Cedar Key island getaway and truly embrace nature's paradise!  Cedar Key Island, the clam capital of the world, is far enough away from the hectic outside life but close enough to airports to make this escape possible.  It's a wonderful, quiet town with a lot of character - they say it feels like the "old Key West".  Our home has just been fully reconditioned with a gorgeous new kitchen island, appliances, colorful stools...to put a smile on your face.  Decorated in tasteful, simple style with airy colors to kick back and let the stress fade away.  Loft with 2 full beds, 2 queen bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large couch with a pullout bed and outside deck positioned perfectly to take in the BREATHTAKING VIEW and GORGEOUS SUNSETS.  New roof and siding and clam shell driveway, located at the end of a private, quiet road.  The spectacular, quiet beauty of nature gently caresses the back of our home.  When you are ready to explore the town or pop over to the tiny airport to watch the visiting planes, it's the perfect bike ride or to take a leisurely walk.  The best way to start the day - sit on our deck in comfy, new chairs with a cup of coffee in hand, with the breeze gently blowing.  Be a part of the peaceful atmoshphere - you will WANT to turn off the cell phone and just be in the moment.  Walk down to the nearby nature walk for a quick swim and enjoy a bird watching paradise!

It's like time stood still in Cedar key!  The island has a small, quaint "downtown" that feels relaxed and friendly.  Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast (or spicy shrimp tacos and fried green tomatoes for lunch) at Ken's Keyside Diner, the best keylime pie and reasonably priced brew (and a good children's menu) at Pickled Pelican, a cigar bar on Dock Street, the best chowder in the the world at Tonys, or live music with steamed clams and a juicy burger at the outdoor Big Deck.  The most adorable store to visit is The Dilly Dally with mermaid trinkets, t-shirts and darling sundresses.  Then cool off with ice cream and souvenier shopping at the shop next door.  The local art stores provide wonderful pieces to view or purchase.  The local hardware store has a helpful staff and a good selection of items.  Stroll toward the town beach to cool off or rent a kayak, golf cart (a lot of fun!) or a ride on a horsedrawn carriage.  Hop on a boat tour (it's so neat to learn about the history of the area) or rent a boat for your own adventure.  See dolphins frolicking in the water, birds everywhere and explore the little nearby islands.  It is a photographer's delight - it is just gorgeous!  Visit Kona Joe's for a cup of hot coffee or refreshing fruit smoothie and next door is a shop that makes lovely, local canvas bags for purchase.  There are churches for worship, 2 little markets, take out pizza joints, and 5 mins up Rte 24 is a neat watering hole w/ an awesome sunset called The Tikki Bar.  The local police is visible and friendly.  The pier in town is terrific to relax on or fish off.  Folks travel near and far to fish in Cedar Key!
