The beautiful and tropical landscape of Makaha Valley offers two Recreation Areas for lounging Pool-Side, Relaxing in the Jacuzzi/Hot tub's, or Reserve the Outdoor Grill for a family Barbeque. This is a family friendly complex.

Pool-side recreation; includes relaxing with two Family Recreation Areas/Jacuzzi's Hot tubs, kiddie pools. lap size salt water Pools, and Public Bargeque Grill areas (reservations via the Office on site.) Tennis courts may also be reserved; we provide two tennis rackets & practice t.balls. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the grounds to truly appreciate the georgeous color changes against the mountains at sunset. Peacocks are free to roam the grounds; as this is a naturally protected reserve for these peacefully, docile, and georgeous animals on the premises.

Makaha Valley is considered country living. There is definitely a country feel in the family friendly community. Cruise the beach for morning walks, hiking, beach activities, boating experiences are offered just minutes away at the Waianae Boat Harbor and Marina. Dolphin tours and kayaking are year round, while Whale watching tours are seasonal (Dec to April.)
Fishing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, scuba, Sunset Catamaran cruising, and so much more are all just minutes away at the boat harbor and more options are available at the Ko'Olina Resort for a world famous traditional Hawaiian Food Luau & entertainment out on the beautiful Paradise Cove shoreline on the beach!
Ko'Olina Resort has a great family traditional beach Luau at Paradise Cove. This is a great place for the day on the beach, picnic, take a nap, or enjoy the calm waters for the kids.
Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park, just 25 minutes away; Water slides, the Cliff Hanger, Tornado, boogie board in the wave pool, or even try surfing on those man-made waves.

Windward Side Activities: Whether you continue the North shore drive around the coast on Kam Hwy or take in the scenic views of the spectacular Koolau Moutnain Range, as you cross over from H-3 hwy. towards the windward side; have camera handy. Kailua Bay and Lanikai beach are some of the finest beach locations on Oahu. Those cool tradewinds, relaxing in the sun or hiking in Lanikai or shopping, be sure to enjoy the great restaurants in Kailua town. By far the Hot spot for kayaking, Windsurfing, or SailBoarding; reserve at least a day to explore the Mokulua Islands. Visit the Kualoa Ranch, near Chinaman's Hat (Mokolii), has many activities for all ages. Horse back riding, ATVs, kayak, or just for an exceptional picture opportunity with the back drop of the majestic Koolau Mountains or the spectacular ocean views.
Waimanalo beach park catching waves on the boogie board, Sea Life Park, Makapuu Lighthouse hiking, to Hanauma Bay to snorkel and see the best ocean sea life up close and personal, even schedule a dolphin or penguin visit.
Swing back around through Waikiki for an amazing array of Dining Choices, Dancing, night life shows and entertainment. Hawaiian music and hula, and don't miss the Friday Night Fireworks display! We haven't even gotten to the many other places you might want to put on your list of "must see or must do" activities such as; Hiking up Daimond Head Crater and. of course making a stop at Pearl Harbor to visit the Arizona Memorial, self tour, and boat excursion out to the memorial itself (free to the public).
