My family recently had the pleasure of spending a week in this property, and I really don’t think I could have asked for a better experience. Here’s a recap of our experience….

The Property
First, I’d like to discuss the owner’s recent renovations to the entire house. While this is standard operating procedure for a vacation property, you can tell that the owners put in a ton of effort (and money) into making it a beautiful little home away from home. The cottage has beautiful dark hardwood floors through the open kitchen, living room, and bedrooms. The countertops, cabinetry and stainless steel appliances are all top of the line. The bathroom was clearly designed with a spa in mind. But I think my favorite part of the house was sitting on the brand new deck, sipping a cold beer, and watching the boats tool down lovely Chautauqua lake at sunset. Trust me, you’re going to love this place.

The Owners
I don’t think you could ask for owners that were more attentive to their tenants needs. Any questions I had was responded to with a sense of urgency and level of care that honestly don’t see today. They want you to enjoy your vacation as much as you do, which is kind of nice. This doesn’t mean that they’re all over you, either. They are as engaged as you want them to be.

Bemus Point
I love this little village, the locals are great and there is so much to do I almost don’t know where to begin. Off the top of my head, within walking distance of the cottage you’ll find (all public):

A playground
A golf course
Tennis courts
Basketball courts
A beach
A “floating amphitheater”
5 great restaurants, with everything from pizza to seafood to prime rib
5 bars, 2 of which have outdoor seating over the water
A market/ice cream shop
A boat launch
And plenty of shopping for the ladies too…..

Suggestions
Rent a boat- Whether you want to sail, fish, or pontoon with the family, there are plenty of places to rent boats around the lake. I suggest making your reservations early, though, as they fill up quickly.
Tour the area- There is a lot of cool stuff to see/do in the immediate area, including the Chautauqua Institution, the Summer Wind, Long Point State Park, and the Southern Tier Brewing Company.
Rent this house - My family of 4 fit comfortably, with an extra bed to spare!!!! The property, the owners, and the town ensured that we’ll definitely be back….

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
