Sanborn Camp in Franklin

Our 1950's log sided cabin overlooks Donnells Pond and provides a rustic retreat!  The camp is located on a small hill with large trees and set back to allow privacy. The wrap around deck, screen porch and floating dock are great ways to enjoy the view.  Step down from the first deck to another deck with built in benches and dining table for entertaining.  Ten more steps brings you to the water's edge.  A large floating dock with deep water on one side, shallow water on the other and small beach provide easy access to swimming.  Our camp fire pit is the perfect spot to end the evening with stargazing and marshmellows.  You may opt to use the tent platform and out house for a true Maine camping experience!

• Sleeping accomodations for 6-7 (Two bedrooms one with a queen bed and the other with a full size bed.  A full size futon in the living room and a twin bed on the screen porch.)

• Boat dock (public boat launch on the pond)

Boating, fishing, swimming, bird watching, hiking and mountain climbing.

Donnell Pond is centrally located 20 minutes from Ellsworth**, 45 minutes from Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park and 20 minutes to Schoodic Point (part of Acadia National Park).
