vacation rental description
On the northern shore of Pine Island is the small
tropical location, Bokeelia. Accessible by car, and less than an
hour from I-75, this is one of the Palm Beach Post's top
ten "picture postcard perfect Florida vacation destinations". No
high rises, traffic lights, or fast food restaurants in Bokeelia.
Experience world-class fishing or kick back and breathe in the salty Gulf breezes. Bike to the local restuarants or to the pier.
At the Shell House you can enjoy the screened veranda overlooking the canal or idle
the four minutes out to Charlotte Harbor and your Gulf Slam. The waters have been named by Field and Stream Magazine as the "Hottest Spot In Florida" for saltwater fishing. Boca Grande Pass, home of several of the world's richest tarpon tournaments is a 15 minute run.
Fish open and backwater spots or boat out to the most pristine island beaches
anywhere. The Great Calusa Blueway kayacking trail passes the end of our canal. Visit Cayo Costa (a Florida State Park), and North Captiva , Useppa Island and Cabbage Key.
An ancient home of the Calusa Indians, Pine Island Sound and Carlotte Harbor are scattered with Indian mounds and history.
Shop our local communities' galleries. Enjoy the local art fests, mullet fests, music fests.
