The William Richards Bed & Breakfast house was built in 1835 and was
the home of the only Michigan Governor from the U.P., Governor Chase
Osborn. He lived in the Grand Mansion for over twenty years.The
three story, seven thousand square foot mansion has had only five
owners including William Richards. The home has had a two year up-
grade and has a state of the art kitchen, casual or formal dining,
six fireplaces and four original claw foot bathtubs. The Mansion has
fourteen chandeliers, seven ceiling fans, a gentlemans room, formal
grand room, Library,large outside hot tub Our very own House Wine and
is considered to be one of the most
beautiful and historical homes in one of Michigans oldest city, Sault
Ste.
Marie.

Vacation Rental Amenities
A professional staff is on duty all the time and with every guest
staying at the Mansion includes a full hearty buffet breakfast.The
best and freshest in the Soo including eggs, bacon, sausage, ham,
rolls, hash browns, pancakes, coffee, tea, milk, juice, donuts, corn
beef hash, fruits and more served from nine to around ten thirty, all
you can eat. Each room has TV, stereo, DVD, WiFi, most with a
clawfoot tub. In the Grand Room, enjoy the eight-foot projection
screen movie theater with an extensive movie library and a romantic
fire in the imported fireplace. Snacks are provided all the time
including a always full coffee pot. All beverages are welcome but
only courteous people will be tolerated. The Mansion is smoke free,
pet free and we are not equipped to handle small children. The
entire home is yours to explore and enjoy.Take a real break and let
the staff pamper you while you live like a governor. All bedrooms
are on the second floor. All beds are Queen or King with beautiful
head boards.All rooms are air conditioned and Coming this season is a
sauna, bikes and we have already added a beautiful hot tub our own
house Wine and more. Private free off-street parking for
our guests. All rooms are cleaned and beds are made daily. We will
try our best to make your stay with us something to remember. The
home has been visited by presidents, Henry Ford, Firestone, Edison and
many
other industry moguls paying their respects or just visiting with
Governor Chase Salmon Osborn, the most important person to settle in
the Soo.

Activities and Attractions
The Governor Osborn Mansion now the William Richards House Bed &
Breakfast is located only five to ten minutes from all the Soo has
to offer. We are two blocks from the famous Antlers Restaurant, five
minutes to the Valley Camp Museum Ship and the Tower of History. We
are five minutes to the Soo Locks Boat Tour docks. We are three
blocks to the Power Station with public park and St.Marys fishing,
five minutes to the Osborn park, the golf course, Sugar Island
Ferry, the Kewadin Casino and only under five minutes to the Soo
Locks and the old shopping district, ten minutes to Walmart, K-Mart,
all the best places to eat and everything the Soo has to offer.
There is always something going on in the Soo from tug boat races to
snowmobile races, fishing contest, street fairs, parades and a whole
lot more and we are located in the middle of it all. Sault Sainte
