Vacation Rental Description

North Carolina's Log Cabin known as "The House of Views". 

Enjoy the spectacular views at 5000 feet from our 10 foot open deck 
or relax on the covered porch. Our exposure looks directly towards 
Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Sunny all day...not dark like 
many homes in the mountains. 

Gated mountain for maximum privacy and yet minutes to several golf 
resorts and four-lane roads for easy access to and from the "Cabin." 
We have paved roads all the way to the door.

"The House of Views" is a 3000+ sq ft log cabin with a green metal 
roof, just 15 minutes to Waynesville, 30 minutes to Asheville, and 
2.5 hours to Atlanta.  When you arrive, Michael our resident log 
carved bear, will greet you as you come up the stairs onto our 10 
foot open deck or covered porch. 

Load up the car and do youself a favor, shop before you arrive. 
You will probably not want to leave once you're settled in.... 
especially when you are enjoying a comforting fire from the stone 
fireplace and sipping a cool drink or some nice hot beverage! 

This home is a wonderful "get-a-way" to relax for some peace and 
quiet..read a book, cook, or just venture into the woods for some 
great hiking.  Scrabble is fun too.  

What about some white water? It's not far away!  Skiing? Cataloochee 
Resort is 15-20 minutes from the cabin. Rentals there or on the way.

The Maggie Valley Golf Resort is just below the cabin, only 5 
minutes.  It is absolutely a gorgeous course!

The House of Views features fun log furnishings in a semi-rustic 
decor. Neat stuff, gathered as we went along for the last five 
years.  It's our home!

Whatever your season, "You can't beat this view!!!!!!"

Vacation Rental Amenities

Light and Bright inside, unlike many mountain homes!  The large 
trapaziod windows look east allowing lots of daylight in. You 
can walk right out onto the 10 foot deck through one of two sets of 
double doors and enjoy sunny days or incredible stars at night.  
Views, views and more views from both decks and porches!  

The cabin features: 
Drystack stone woodburning fireplace, local-phone service, air 
conditioning (rarely needed), satellite for three(3)32inch 
televisions with separate receivers, VCR/DVD.  

Our full kitchen is equipped with all the pots & pans, glasses, 
flatware and dishware you'll ever need. Microwave, Blender, 
Dishwasher, Refrigerator with Icemaker, Automatic Coffee maker, 
Cooking utensils, Linens, Towels, Full size Washer/Dryer.  

Each bedroom has its own private bath and there's a convenient 
powder bath off the main living area. No need to go into anyone's 
private bath. The main and lower bedrooms have log king size beds 
and the upstairs has a queen sleighbed.  There is a sleeper sofa on 
the loft.  Two-car garage, Charcoal Grill (BBQ).  

Respectful adults and families please. No-Smoking inside.

Activities and Attractions

Activities (on site or nearby): 
Hike the trails around the cabin or take off to any number of hiking 
trails, golf is available at several courses nearby...we are located 
just above The Maggie Valley Golf Resort...it is gorgeous.

Fishing, wildlife viewing...watch for the humming birds that visit 
us when we put out our feeder, horseback riding, shopping in Maggie, 
Asheville or Waynesville...you gotta go to Mast General Store on 
Main Street, restaurants, rafting on the Pigeon River... all skill 
levels from floating down stream to white knuckle category 3 and 4 
rapids. Downhill skiing at Catalooche, tubing. 

There is gambling in nearby Cherookee along with the Indian 
Reservation.  Check out The Biltmore Estate.  It's
viewable from our deck on a clear day and only a short 30 minute 
drive to Asheville for a visit inside. You may want to visit the   
winery for a taste. The Grove Park Inn is an interesting stop as 
well.
 
Take a picnic and drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or go over to 
Gatlinburg, TN.  Sightsee at Chimney Rock or The Devil's 
Courthouse...you can see 4 states from there! Lake Lure offers boat 
tours.

Maggie Valley has elk that feed at dusk at The Catelooche Ranch near 
the ski area.  A lot of folks go out to watch.  

Most likely you'll stay put, but you do have lots of options when 
you visit "The House of Views".   Make it "your" Log Cabin too, just 
as many of our friends and guests have.
