Tuckerton vacation rentals
Tuckerton is a Borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, in the eastern central region of the state. Main Street in Tuckerton is bounded by Lake Pohatcong and Tuckerton Creek, both used for recreation, especially boating and fishing; with brook trout, pickerel, crappie, bass, perch, musky, and catfish as the main catches. The Tuckerton Seaport is situated on 40 acres along the Tuckerton Creek and is dedicated to preserving and presenting the maritime history of life along the ocean, bays, and creeks of coastal New Jersey. The Seaport features exhibits, demonstrations, special events, festivals, live aquatic displays and more. The scenic Tip Seaman Park offers basketball, a bike trail, fishing, a fitness trail, a horseshoe pit, a picnic area, a playground, a shuffleboard court, a boat launch, a soccer field, a softball field, a tennis court, and a volleyball court. Across Lake Pohatcong is Stewart's Drive-In, which has been open continuously since the 1970s. The Redmen Lodge’s Fishing Tournament is held each August, as is the New Jersey Maritime Heritage Festival. The Antique & Classic Boat Show is held in September, as is the famous Duck Decoy Show. Golfers can play on one of the four courses in the area. The Tuckerton Historical Society maintains both the Giffordtown Schoolhouse and the Tuckerton Little Borough Hall, where visitors can see artifacts and memorabilia from days gone by in Tuckerton.
