Colorado Vacation Rentals

Why Stay in Colorado Rental Homes?

Colorado’s snowy winters and mild summers provide striking contrast, but both seasons offer an equal number of outdoor activities. With flavors of the Old West, abundant wildlife, and stunning natural sights, Colorado vacation rentals are the most authentic way to experience the Centennial State. Colorado cabin rentals and vacation homes, whether high on a mountain or low in a canyon, provide flexible lodging options that hotels do not.

Colorado Skiing

The powdery white slopes of the Rocky Mountains are prime spots for Colorado ski vacations and snowboarding adventures, and Colorado ski condos are the best way to experience these thrills. Colorado enjoys a long season ripe for winter activities; snow arrives in mid-October in some areas, and lasts until the end of June at the highest elevation ski area in North America, Arapahoe Basin. Ski resorts have schools of instruction available, and also cater to snowboarding. Ski condos in Colorado provide easy access to the slope and are a must for winter sport lovers.

Hiking in Colorado

The state is also wildly popular for its summer hiking opportunities, and many Colorado vacation rentals put you right at the foot of the trails. The Rocky Mountain National Park spans more than 265,000 acres and offers hikes with breathtaking views. The abundant trails offer hikes for both beginners and experts, which can anywhere from a few hours to a few days to accomplish. There are numerous camping sites for those who want to spend a night in the great outdoors. Bring a poncho, though; Colorado’s mountains often experience sudden and frequent thunderstorms. The park is split in half by the Continental Divide, which is an incredible stop on a Colorado road trip! Why not stay in a Colorado rental cabin with a beautiful mountain view and plentiful hiking and biking trails?

Colorado Vacation Destinations

Colorado condos and rental homes abound in the northwest part of the state and are perfect for your vacation, whether the time is in the dead of winter or in the middle of summer. In the winter, Aspen vacation rentals are ideal for enjoying the town's convenient ski slopes and breathtaking views of snow-covered Aspen Mountain. Any time of year, you can take a 12-mile drive to Maroon Bells, a famous spot with incredible views of twin mountains, glistening lakes, and gorgeous foliage. Upscale shopping and dining is a must in Aspen, and you might even spot a few celebrities while out and about.  The Aspen Music Festival is a beloved event in the summer that features incredible classical music, and the Aspen Institute features frequent speeches from world-famous figures and politicians.

In the summertime you can hike along the beautiful Hunter Creek Trail, or take a scenic chairlift ride in Snowmass and enjoy excellent views along with hiking and bicycle trails. Aspen condominiums provide easy access to the city in a comfortable, home-like environment.

The tiny population of Beaver Creek benefits from the amalgamation of old-world ambience and posh amenities of today. Beaver Creek condos are a skier’s paradise; the small community hosts World Cup for Downhill Skiing. Breckenridge, another popular destination for skiing in Colorado, has history that dates back to Victorian times and is a significant National Historic District. Outdoor sports in all seasons are part of Breckenridge's culture. Ski condos in Keystone and Vail are also always in demand for winter sports lovers. Smooth slopes are hardly few and far between, making a Colorado ski vacation very easy to plan!

Southwest Colorado offers tranquil landscapes, with hot springs, stone canyons, and rocky crests. Visitors of Crested Butte and Gunnison County can enjoy horseback rides amongst brilliant wildflower blossoms. Durango is a historic and archaeological hotbed, with Anazani artifacts and cliff dwellings in the incredible Mesa Verde National Park. A cabin rental in Durango is the best way to soak up the history. Telluride is a popular town between peaks of the San Juan Mountains, and exhibits the historic Frontier spirit with a splash of today's quirkiness. Mountain Village is linked by gondola with Telluride, and offers dining, shopping, and a championship golf course.

A very strong love of the outdoors permeates the Front Range, or North Central, region of Colorado. Estes Park vacation rentals sport a backdrop of Longs Peak, at 14,255 feet, and both hikers and climbers look to ascend the trails. Cabin rentals in Estes Park are very popular in the summer, especially along the Big Thompson River. Nature is everywhere to be found; fly fishing is extremely popular in this area and massive elk are often spotted crossing the street or lounging in the grass. A quick drive into Rocky Mountain National Park will give you access to dozens of hiking trails with incredible vistas. The infamous restored Stanley Hotel, which inspired Stephen King's “The Shining,” has a beautiful (and slightly frightening) presence in Estes Park.

Denver and Colorado Springs vacation rentals are popular, though it’s not surprising -- they are located in the largest metropolitan areas in Colorado. The Colorado Springs region encompasses the behemoth Pike's Peak, which can be explored via bike, foot, car, or by riding on the cog railway. Other sites of interest in Colorado Springs are the Air Force Academy and the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Take a stroll in the underground tunnels and chambers of The Cave of the Winds, but watch out for the bats! Enjoy cowboy heritage through entertainment at the Flying W Ranch. In the central downtown area, entertainment, shopping and an active nightlife will keep you busy. Lower downtown has a very concentrated Victorian-style architecture and many business owners have turned the insides into restaurants and art galleries; six major brew pubs and microbreweries are also located here. Visit Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum, tour the Colorado State Capitol building, and glance at the grand collection of Native American art at the Denver Art Museum.

Denver vacation rentals are the perfect way to experience Colorado’s capitol!
