Important Notice! Effective June 14, 2013 we will discontinue our presence
on this website. From that day forward we will share the cottage exclusively
with those who have already stayed with us in the past. This change is necessary
as we can no longer accommodate the increasing demand. To our previous guests;
we've enjoyed getting to know you and look forward to your next visit! To anyone
else interested in staying at Carson Mountain Cottage; we hope to meet you before

Carson Mountain Cottage is an exclusive retreat located high in the Blue
Ridge Mountains - just a short walk from the Shenandoah National Park.

Unwind in the bucolic ambiance of tall trees and a mountain breeze while you
enjoy our luxurious cottage amenities. Between the gorgeous hardwood floors
and magnificent vaulted ceilings, you will find a blend of old world elegance,
fine art and modern conveniences. In sunlight; the forest will shade you.
In rain; the metal roof will serenade you.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with hand-painted farm
sink, electric range, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee
maker. The bathroom boasts a hand-painted sink, large tub
and shower. A washer/dryer is made available for extended stays.  
All are surrounded by rich stone tiles on the walls and a heated
floor! In the livingroom you will find a large screen TV with cable 
service, DVD/VCR player, a gaming table, pellet stove, central
heating/air conditioning and a telephone. Relax on the large sofa
and enjoy the many antiques and original works of local and regional
art. Or simply settle in with one of many available books on the
surrounding area's history and culture.  

Outside the cottage, find a spacious front porch with ceiling fans, a screen
enclosed gazebo and a secluded and comfortably furnished stone
patio with grill. All is nestled into the native, mountain plantlife.

Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Therapy is available at Carson
Mountain Cottage. Indulge youself or surprise that special someone!
Please request an appointment when arranging your stay. 

Hike the legendary Appalachian Trail (just a short walk from the
cottage) or meander along rural roads to find the many surrounding
world-class wineries or fine restaurants like the world renowned Inn at Little
Washington and Flint Hill Public House. There are several antique shops
and art galleries just minutes from the cottage! 

Take a canoe or kayak trip on the Shenandoah River or just pick a
mountain stream for some fishing. Visit nearby caverns, historic homes
and Civil War battlefields. Grab your camera and head for The Skyline
Drive's many scenic overlooks or just nap in the quiet mountain
solitude. By horseback or backpack; you'll find the peace you seek.

Standard yearly rates include:
$1,050 per week Saturday to Saturday.
$150 per night Monday through Thursday. Two night minimum.
$160 per night Friday through Sunday. Two night minimum.

Notes:

*Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice.  *Unfortunately we cannot allow pets at the cottage.

Check-in: After 3:00PM
Check-out: By 11:00AM
Some flexibility may be accommodated on request!

A $200.00 refundable security deposit is required to hold a
reservation. When the deposit is received, your reservation is
officially confirmed!

On your arrival, the security deposit converts to a damage deposit
which is refunded within 30 days of check-out, provided there is no
damage to property and terms of the rental agreement are met.

Full payment for your stay is normally made upon arrival (cash, check
or money order). We also accept electronic payments via Paypal;
please contact us for details.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel more than 30 days before check-in, your security
deposit will be returned. If you cancel and have already paid for
your stay, we will refund your payment for lodging. Cancellations
due to inclement weather may be considered.
