Across the street from the beach! 2 kitchens+ in Folly Beach

Abundant charm and fully air conditioned comfort in authentic Low Country style, just across the street from the beach and just 20 minutes from historic downtown Charleston.  We do not require a full week's rental and we do not charge extra for pets. This classic beach house was built in 1924 and has high ceilings and bead board walls.  It is just across the street from the beach - not a block away - literally across the street.  The beach down where we are is the loveliest part of Folly Island.  We are on a deep lot full of Palm trees and Water Oaks.  We are just 20 minutes from historic downtown Charleston and 8 blocks (an easy one mile walk) to Center Street on Folly with shops, restaurants and fun for all; just steps to the Folly Fishing Pier.  This is a duplex - 4 bedrooms/2 full bath up and 2 bedrooms / 1 bath down (toilet and shower areas are separated for use at the same time).  Perfect for a large family gathering or wedding party.  Check our web site, kudzurose com, for availabilty calendars for each unit and for the whole house and for more photographs.  The calendar here on vacationrentals.com shows only dates when the whole house is booked.   Dates shown as "tentative bookings" are when one or the other unit is booked but not both. 

Rosie's Ocean View is the upstairs unit with 4 big bedrooms and 2 full baths. It has 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 2 single beds and a queen sleeper sofa.  TV/DVD player in common area with comfy furniture for all.  The HVAC unit is new and keeps the place cool in summer and warm in winter.  The kitchen is fully equipped, has a brand new dishwasher and new countertops, 2 coffee makers (a cuisinart with a  timer and a Mr. Coffee) and a breakfast bar.  We have a Belgian waffle maker that makes for yummy breakfasts and a blender that makes for yummy cocktails.  The dining room table comfortably seats 9 people.  The screened in front  porch runs the entire front of the house and has beautiful ocean views and ocean breezes.  Birds nest in the palm trees next to the house, mixing their songs with the sound of the waves.  The common area is full of comfortable, clean furniture for reading or TV viewing and the sleeper sofa is from Pottery Barn and has a thick mattress.

Kudzu's Cottage is the ground floor unit.  It has lovely big bright windows and a screened in porch that runs the depth of the house, nestled in a grove of Oak trees and Palms.  Styled like a Portugese fishing cottage, the Cottage has all tile floors, clay pots and warm colors. It has 2 bedrooms (both with full size beds, plus an additonal twin bed in one room) and a tiled bath with a dressing area. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a new microwave, blender and a breakfast bar.  The dining room table comfortably seats 6 people.  The TV is a new, wall-mounted flat screen located in the common area with comfortable furniture.  DVD player and cable TV are included.  The sofa is huge - big enough for two people to lie down for a good read or an afternoon snooze. 

We are right across the street from the beach.  We have a grill for your use, an oyster roasting pit and a beautifull back yard full of flowering shrubs, climbing Jasmine, a Fig tree, a Bay Tree and a Eucalyptus tree.   Our screened porches bring you into the world of the South Carolina Low Country like few places can.  There is a Piggly Wiggly grocery store, a Harris Teeter and a Publix all nearby on James Island, plus a Walmart on James Island in case you forget to bring something.  We are only a 20 minute drive to historic downtown Charleston.  Google "Charleston, SC" and start planning!  We are 8 blocks (1 mile) from the Folly Beach fishing pier and Center Street with its shops, restaurants and fun for all.

Folly Beach is beautifull.  It is almost entirely single family homes.  There are no high rises.  It is beachy and easy and so very close to all that is historic Charleston, SC.  For time off the beach,shop on Center Street or head into Charelston.  See the Yorktown aircraft carrier, King Street, the Battery and Fort Sumter to name a few of Charleston's unique attractions. 

This is a duplex.  There are two separate units (2 floors under the same roof) and each has its own charms.  Or you can rent the whole house - 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 2 kitchens, 2 screened porches, 2 common areas.  We do not require a whole week's rental and we do not charge extra for pets.  If you only need two nights, email us or call and ask.  We might be able to do 2 nights, depending on the time of year. 

1.  The Whole House (sleeps 14+):

Spring and Fall:      For stays between March 1 and May 24, and for stays between September 10 and November 25, the nightly rate is  $325/night and the weekly rate (7 nights) is $2,000.  For Thanksgiving (November 16 – 25), Summer rates apply.

Summer:                For stays between May 25 and September 9, the nightly rate is $400/night and the weekly rate (7 nights) is $2,500.

Winter:                 For stays between November 26 and February 29 (excluding December 22 –January 1), the nightly rate is $300 and the weekly rate is $1,500.  For December 22- January 1, Summer rates apply.

2.  Rosie's/upstairs only: 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths (sleeps 9):

Spring and Fall:      For stays between March 1 and May 24, and for stays between September 10 and November 25, the nightly rate is  $250/night and the weekly rate (7 nights) is $1,500.  For Thanksgiving (November 16 – 25), Summer rates apply.

Summer:                For stays between May 25 and September 9, the nightly rate is $300/night and the weekly rate (7 nights) is $2,000.

Winter:                 For stays between November 26 and February 29 (excluding December 22 –January 1), the nightly rate is $225 and the weekly rate is $1,200.  For December 22- January 1, Summer rates apply) 

3.  Cottage/ground floor only: 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath (separated toilet and shower areas) (sleeps 5)

Spring and Fall:      For stays between March 1 and May 24, and for stays between September 10 and November 25, the nightly rate is $150/night and the weekly rate (7 nights) is $900.  For Thanksgiving (November 16 – 25), Summer rates apply.

Summer:                For stays between May 25 and September 9, the nightly rate is $175/night and the weekly rate (7 nights) is $1,100.

Winter:                 For stays between November 26 and February 29 (excluding December 22 –January 1), the nightly rate is $125 and the weekly rate is $700.  For December 22- January 1, Summer rates apply)
