activities and attractions in Manuel Antonio/Quepos Costa Rica

- Beaches - (a short drive, convenient bus or taxi from our house) At the south end of
Manuel Antonio there is access to four beach areas. At the entrance to the main strand
there are several "Sodas" (casual al fresco restaurants) and native souvenir vendors. At
night one of the soda pavilions is a popular outdoor dance club by the main beach. To the
left of the main beach, across the small tidal sandbar you'll find the entrance to the
National Park. In the park there are two more secluded beach areas. To the right of the
main beach (between high tides) is another secluded beach that is gay popular and
clothing optional. Each is a wonderful piece of remote paradise.
- Tours through the Manuel Antonio National Park (opens at 8:30 am, best to see animals
before the heat of day), there is an entry fee (reservations suggested in high season) and
you can hike on your own through the hilly forest, with cliff vistas and more secluded
beaches or guides are available for about $10/hour at the entrance. They have telescopes,
a keen eye and lots of fascinating information.
- Most tour activities require prior reservation and deposit. Most include the taxi or
microbus pick-up at your door and return as well as a meal. Some are cash only. Many
have "Gay Days." Be sure to inquire.
- Tour Activities available - Sunset Sailboat Cruise - Delightful. Leaves mid-afternoon
from the dock in Quepos. See the view from the Pacific; snacks, beverages and dinner
included. Stops twice for swimming, snorkeling and maybe some dolphin watching.
Concludes with sunset.
- Other include - Sport Fishing, Jet Ski Tours, Sea Kayaking, Rafting, Horseback Riding
thru the Jungle and Waterfalls, Hang Gliding, ATV Adventures , Snorkeling & Dolphin
Watch, Canopy Tours (zip line through the forest!, includes lunch or dinner), Surf School,
Rainmaker Aerial Walkway (walk over the trees! includes breakfast and lunch), Safari
Mangrove Tours, Alligator River Boat Tours
- Restaurants, Bars, Small Casinos, Clubs and Spas - The food is generally, remarkably
good and not very expensive. Native foods, simply prepared meats and fish and basic
Italian are best. Casual beach attire (shirt, shorts and shoes) is the norm.

This was the best experience ever

Gigi (Ann Arbor)
Review submitted: January 8, 2013   Date of arrival: December 18, 2012

This was an amazing experience. My husband and I arrived two days before the children and we had the most wonderful romantic getaway. The house is a tucked away secret that invites romance and relaxation. We sat on the private patio and let our feet dangle in the water as we drank Pina Coladas under the night sky. We talked of never leaving; forgetting all that we had left behind. We danced to Adele (CD included in the home) and we laughed a lot. We woke the next morning to the sounds of birds and other morning creatures. This place is paradise, if you never leave the house and sit by the pool and just relax that can satisfy the soul...but there is so much to do and so little time!
When our children arrived, the first words from our son was, "WoW, this place looks amazing!!! "It looks like paradise in real life? The internet does it no justice!!!"
This home has EVERYTHING that you will need while on vacation. All you have to bring are your clothes and personal items. The dishes, pots & pans, linens, bath and pool towels, soaps, laundry and dish detergent, and everything else that you would need in a home is here.
It is clean and well taken care of my a personal housekeeper who comes as much or as little as you need her. Tom, the property manager is always available and he too will make himself available as little or as much as you need him.
I want to write about everything but the main things you will want to know about this property is, "It is beautiful, safe and absolutely perfect!!!! The living space can accommodate six people with ease. And the views are breath taking. The owner is a real person who wants your experience to be memorable. He cares about his home and it shows.
Come to Costa Rica and stay at Casa Tres Palmas and see for yourself the hidden beauty that will change the way that you travel. Hotels will never meet our expectations again after having stayed in this home.
We said we would never leave but of course we did. There is one thing I am certain of, "We will go back!!!"
Thanks Howard

great house and house manager

kgclassic (Los Angeles, CA/USA)
Review submitted: June 3, 2012   Date of arrival: May 19, 2012

The house was perfect (there were only 2 of us); although the house could easily hold 2 couples with some children along for the holiday. Located closer to Quepos, Manuel Antonio was only about 10 minutes away (Manuel Antonio and its beaches were awesome!) The bus runs right along the main road that is close to where the house is located. The house has 2 nice bedrooms with 2 really big bathrooms. The house manager Tom was so helpful in arranging the tours we wanted to go on (zip-lining, white water rafting, etc.) Overall, it was an awesome week in Manuel Antonio & Quepos!

Awesome vacation

Review submitted: March 26, 2012   Date of arrival: January 11, 2012

Our family of 5 stayed here for 10 days and had a fantastic time. The house was beautiful, exactly as described on the website. It was spotless and the pool was sparkling clean. Tom, the property manager was great, meeting us at the house upon arrival to show us where everything was. He also made sure we had coffee and breakfast items the next morning as it was too late for us to shop at the market the evening we arrived. He returned the next morning to help us get our bearings and offered suggestions on everything from the best markets to shop at as well as activities, beaches to visit, restaurants, etc. He will book any activity for you or just provide information, whatever you like. The house is in a great location, minutes from the grocery store, beaches, Manuel Antonio National Park, and great restaurants. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed, beach towels, coolers, gas grill, washer, dryer and the kitchen was well equipped. Layla kept the house spotless during our entire stay. Our favorite beach was Playa Espadilla which offers a wide variety of activities. The kids enjoyed jet skiing, parasailing and surfing lessons. The waves are also great for body surfing and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas also. There are shops right across the street as well as restaurants where you can enjoy a drink and experience the beautiful sunsets. We also recommend Titi Canopy Tours for zip-lining. We all had a blast doing this, a must do. If you are looking to horseback ride, we highly recommend Rancho Savegre which offers spectacular sunset beach rides. Diego operates a top notch experience and the ride is topped off with a wonderful Oceanside dinner. This was a one of the highlights of the trip as we were able to canter along the beach just as the sun was setting, truly a experience we will not forget. Diego offers rides to suit every experience level. We had the most amazing vacation and highly recommend staying at this property. You will not be disappointed.
