Washington vacation rentals

Washington is a town in Sullivan County, New Hampshire in the southwestern part of the state. It covers 50 square miles and is situated in a hilly, rocky, forested area, with 26 lakes and ponds, and is home to Pillsbury State Park. The park is heavily wooded and has several ponds and wetlands. Canoeing, fishing, picnicking, hiking, camping, and mountain biking are favorite park activities. History buffs can explore the park's long-abandoned cellar holes, remnants of early farm settlement and lumbering of the late 1700s and early 1800s. Bird watching is very popular in Washington as there are a multitude of species that call the area home, including heron, loons, swan, geese, ducks, eagles, falcons, turkey, quail, and doves. Washington has many well-preserved historic buildings, including the Washington Town Hall, erected in 1787, the Washington Congregational Church, built in1840, the Washington Police Station, built in 1833, and the famous Seventh-day Adventist Church, built in 1842. The Washington New Hampshire Historical Society houses artifacts and archival information and can provide you with information about the town’s past.
