Travel to Panama / Panama Vacation Rentals

More flora and fauna than is imaginable, a canal, beach after beach of beauty, and plenty of culture…Panama simply breathes life, and there’s a high probability that your Panama vacation rental will fit in with all of these attributes!

Panama Ecology

Panama must hold the key definition to ecological diversity, whether it be in plant or animal life. (Panama vacation rentals are just as diverse!) Being at the crux of two continents means that Panama has a unique blend of herbs, vegetables, and tropical fruits to use for its own ethnic cooking. Orchids come in more than 1500 species, sure to please anyone’s interest in flowers. Bird watching is highly popular, since there are over 900 species of bird for which to keep your binoculars peeled. Even the Smithsonian Institution has found this area of such interest, that the Institute of Tropical Research is located in Panama. So many accessible jungles and rainforests; so little time if you don’t take a long enough vacation in Panama!.

Panama Vacation Spots

The Bocas del Toro nine-island archipelago is a top destination choice within Panama. Bocas has uncrowded, very attractive beaches to enjoy a number of beach and water sports such as diving, windsurfing, and sea kayaking. Interesting fauna in Bocas include birds and dolphins. You’ll see plenty of flora in the coast jungles, and at night, great socializing and parties reign. Pacific Coast Beaches nearby Panama City offers white sand and gorgeous blue waters. Golfers will be pleased to find a beachfront golf course, and surfers will delight at the opportunities at Rio Mar and Punta Chame for windsurfing. Two full service resorts are available for your vacation stay. Many U.S.-style restaurants and stores greet vacationers.

The mountains in West Panama bring you Boquete, a town where flowers sit next to coffee farms, and nature makes up the setting for the activities here. Take a specific coffee farm tour, including seeing the bean processing plants. For the adventurous and tamer folks, white water rafting brings you down the river quickly or calmly. Look out for the quetzals! Boquete is a strong resort area. El Valle de Anton is another mountain town, nicknamed “Crater Valley” because of its immense volcano crater location. Many visit nearby cloud forest nature preserve Gaital National Monument to take nature tours, hike, or watch for birds. Sightseeing along the “roads” includes admiring the grand homes and mansions of well-off Panamanians. Visit the petroglyphs right outside of town.

Sophisticated Panama City surprises many in Central America…skyscrapers are part of the skyline. Touring a more historic section of the city leads to Casco Antiguo, from the 1600’s, with the UNESCO designation “Patrimony of Humanity.” Panama Viejo shows a slice of history from the 1500’s. Whether it’s nightclubs or casinos by night, native crafts shopping by day, or a midday meal at on of the international cuisine restaurants, you have it all in Panama City. All the more reason to book one of the Panama City rentals found here.

The Panama Canal really stands on its own as a sight to see; it is an engineering work of technology connecting ocean to ocean. The Miraflores Visitor Center gives a great choice of views from three observation decks, and displays exhibitions of the canal’s history, conservation and preservation of water resources, and an inside glance at the interworkings of the canal. You can even kayak in the canal to visit the Camino de las Cruces, where the Spanish conquistadors made their way from Atlantic to Pacific. The Panama Canal Rainforest area is a real treat for those looking to temporarily cohabit with some of the most incredible parts of nature. There is a wide diversity of fauna: hundreds of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. The man-made lake called Gatun is an excellent choice for fishing.

Pearl Islands have been made extra famous for being one of the locations of the “Survivor” reality TV series. Bright blue waters greet you for snorkeling and sportfishing. Much healthy vegetation and quite desolate beaches make these islands a real retreat. San Blas Islands have the distinct beauty of the Caribbean, complete with palm trees, while maintaining a culture of the San Blas Indians in the villages. Lodging is in cabin structures whose sides/top are made from the palm trees. Great snorkeling awaits you.

Of all the Panama vacation rentals availalbe, Panama City rentals and Playa Blanca beach condos are the favorites! But you can find great private, peaceful, roomy vacation homes all over Central America. Whether it's vacation rentals in Panama, or Nicaragua, or El Salvador, you have your eye on -- it's all right here.

So, before you make those hotel reservations, give vacation rentals in Panama a try! It will be worth it.
