Great architecture and culture waits for vacationers in the province of Gauteng, where Johannesburg displays structures from the 1800s through today. Johannesburg also has a number of open-air arenas. Look to the beaches for fun sun and sand, and learn history from the remains of South Africa’s battles.

The Limpopo River has a region named after it, and the Limpopo region is filled to the brim with wildlife, fascinating terrain from mountains to forests and savannahs, and ancient stories. Find artifacts from the Iron Age and the Stone Age, and celebrate the Rain Queen in the Modjadji Cycad Nature Reserve. See roan and sable antelope along with white and black rhino in the Lapalala Wilderness.

Pass the night away in a private game lodge, and spend the day marveling at the sheer beauty in Mpumalanga. If you are seeking the joys of birdwatching or trout fishing, you have succeeded in Mpumalanga as well. A prime attraction in South Africa, the Kruger National Park is located here with big five safaris and a plethora of fauna from mammals to birds and reptiles.

You can find Sun City in South Africa’s North West region, with all of its glitz and entertainment opportunities, including the indoor Valley of the Waves.
