Thai Cuisine

The culture of Thailand is well ensconced in appreciating the cuisine of Thailand. Where else are cooking schools so related to vacationing? The spicy and sour tastes are found and enjoyed around the world, but Thailand is the source. Chili, coconut and bamboo shoots are major ingredients in the indigenous dishes. Exemplifying the original Thai waterborne lifestyle is Tom Yum Kung, a popular hot and sour shrimp soup, while the fruits such as mangosteens are quite fabulous to savor. Fresh herbs play a big role in the foods as well. Street stand food in Bangkok can offer toffee-coated peanuts, and you should try the sticky rice too! Don't forget to dine in a few nights as well, and ultimately save money, with the help of your Thailand vacation rental kitchen.

Travel to Thailand...

So much to see and do lies within Bangkok, Thailand’s capital city. Bangkok holds a wide variety of festivals throughout the year, with themes from film to China Town to shopping. There are many spas that combine techniques to give patrons the peak of relaxation. Both Siam and Pratunam are great examples of the diversity in shopping, from the eclectic shops to bazaars. For another strange stop, the Forensic Museum is for the macabre minds. Even the temples of Bangkok are decidedly different.

If you are itching to see the flora and fauna of Chiang Mai, a popular way to see these sights is to take an elephant trek. Chiang Mai is a primary center of Thai Massage, so you may want to take in some relaxation this way. In the province, there are many Buddhist temples to gaze upon, such as Wat Phra Singh and Wat Suan Dok at sunset. On the east coast of Thailand lies the resort area of Hua Hin, one of the oldest resort towns in Thailand. A vacation here can’t avoid the lure of the sun and white sand, and many sailing vessels are out in the waters. With a permit, Klai Kangwon Palace is a location worth visiting.

The northeast region of Issan, though not a tourist trap, is rich with culture and archaeological finds such as dinosaur fossils. There is a good number of national nature parks ripe for trekking through the forest. The Ban Chiang Archaeological Site in Issan is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, showing amazing early evidence of farming and culture in the region. Krabi is home to the rather rare find of limestone towers called karsts, both on land and sea. On land they are surrounded by white sand beaches, and in the blue sea they are an invitation to explore via scuba diving and snorkeling. Rock climbing at nearby Railay Beach is incredible. The caves in the area are either revered religiously or used by the fauna such as swallows.

Ko Samui Island is part of the Angthong island group, beautifully decorated by green forests, beaches, waterfalls, and tropical gardens. The nearby island of Ko Tao is the ultimate location for scuba diving, and Ko Samui also offers dive resorts. If seeking a religious education of Buddhism, there is Wat Phra Yai, where you find an immense statue called Big Buddha. Pattaya is a pleasure destination, where a trip to the beach may result in a massage, a water sport, or simply people watching. Great shipwrecks in nearby waters await divers through PADI dive shops. Other activities include outdoor sports such as go-karts and game fishing. A variety of nightlife attractions allow vacationers to kick back, watch a show, or get sweaty dancing away the hours.

Phuket Island is quite ready for accommodating vacationers with rentals near the sand, where scuba and snorkeling activities reign. Visit the Phuket Sea Shell Museum, reputedly with a local and international collection of seashells with great value. Several public buildings exhibit a mixed Western and Chinese architecture, juxtaposed against Thai techniques. Udon Thani’s primary attraction is the archaeological Bronze Age excavation, but there is also beautiful flora to see, especially at the Udon Sunshine Fragrant Orchid Farm. This farm picks up the wonderful scent of the orchids in the morning to early afternoon. The big Huai Luang Reservoir provides a great setting for fishing and rafting.

Finding the right Thailand vacation deal

Planning to travel to Thailand is one thing; choosing your favorite vacation spots, and accommodations, is a whole other! But Thailand vacation rentals help make the vacation planning process a lot easier. The question remains: is a Thailand vacation rental affordable? If you're looking for a great Thailand vacation deal, then do not reserve a hotel room! Especially if you're traveling with the family and hope to stay a while -- you do not want to cram your loved ones into one small hotel room, or reserve a bunch of pricy hotel rooms. A Thailand vacation rental in Phuket Island, or anywhere other Asian destination, will accommodate you and your fellow travelers perfectly. It doesn't matter whether you're going on a Thailand golf vacation, or a family getaway, a private home is the way to go!
